"Damon caught Amber with his cousin in the janitor's closet this morning and the slut did not even show any remorse." Clarissa informed me as we sat at our usual place at the corner of the cafeteria with our lunch.
"Seriously? Why am I even surprised? Almost all the cheerleaders have slept with all the members of the football, baseball and basketball teams. I don't know if it's a norm to do that as a cheerleader or what." I cringed at that. Clarissa chuckled.
Damon was the captain of the baseball team and his cousin, Josh, was the captain of the football team. Damon should have reasoned when he decided to date the head cheerleader. Considering the fact that Clarissa and I were in the same class and this happened during our History class, yet she was still able to find out, was just maddening. "So what did Damon do?" I asked, taking a bite of my sandwich. Clarissa drank her mango juice and replied, "you know men. His fist talked first and while Amber was trying to separate the two, Damon turned around and slapped her so hard, she collapsed."
My eyes widened in shock as I unconsciously touched my cheek. Please remind me never to even think of dating Damon Blackman. That bastard. How dare he hit his female to the point of her falling unconscious? I can't really defend Amber either. That bitch just didn't know how to keep her legs closed but still that slap must have hurt.
Throughout lunch, we kept discussing random stuff while eating. The rest of the day went by faster than I had anticipated. Finally, it was time for us to go home.
Clarissa's driver came to pick her up. "Uncle, today, I have an assignment to take care of so I will go with Aelia. Sorry, I didn't tell you." She told her driver. Like mine, her family was also well to do. Her father was a military doctor while her mom was a lawyer and they barely had time for her so she usually crashed at my place. The girl was so likable, my parents even wished they could adopt her so I could "have a sister too and stop 'worrying' Cyrus", says my dad.
Dad was never really a fan of me being so close to my elder brother for some reason unknown to us. He always scowled when he saw me in my brother's clothes. Like what's wrong with wearing my brother's clothes? "Go and change, he's not your boyfriend!" He had shouted at me the first time I had worn Cyrus' clothes. Cyrus didn't take it easy with dad when he came home to find me with teary bloodshot eyes. He almost slapped dad for making me cry but mom jumped in and he let him go. Me being the spoiled and pampered princess, had looked my dad in the eyes while I followed my brother into his room.
"Can I take my daughter home then, ma'am?" Uncle Jonas asked. Did I mention that Amber Grey was Clarissa's driver's daughter? And did Amber hate it? Of course she did. "Yes, of course." Clarissa, being the sweet person that she was, agreed and followed me to Cyrus' office. That was where we normally waited for Uncle Sam. Cyrus could drive just fine, Xavier could too but for some reason, the two assholes just loved having Uncle Sam do his job.
"Hey, girls." Cyrus smiled when he saw us. Xavier was there already, busy playing some game on his phone. I glared at Cyrus and sat in the office couch. Xavier looked at us and chuckled, shaking his head before he looked at Clarissa. Clarissa sat closer to me as if to hide from Xavier's lingering gaze. "Aelia." Cyrus called in a deep voice which almost melted me into a puddle but I decided to be strong and continue ignoring him. Sighing, he walked to me. "Buttercup." I looked away. When he tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and touched my cheek, I shivered, loving how the sparks brought goosebumps on my skin. I looked at him and he apologized, "I am so sorry for how I behaved with you in class today, forgive your favorite brother." He leaned in and kissed my forehead.
His long veiny fingers crept up to my sides and before I knew it, he was tickling me. I began to squeal and giggle, "Cyrus! Ah! S-stop." I wiggled in his arms as I giggled. My face was probably red by now. "Do you forgive me, babygirl?" He asked while tickling me. "Yes! Cyrus!" I laughed. He chuckled at the sight of my flushed face and I suddenly became conscious of my surroundings. Clarissa and Xavier were both exchanging looks while looking at us as if we were aliens. Cyrus cleared his throat, looking at his phone and spoke. "Uncle Sam is here. Let's go." He broke the awkwardness in the room and we all made our way out.
While Xavier sat with Uncle Sam in the front, Cyrus, Clarissa and I sat in the back. "Look, another gossip. Kezia and her squad get caught with drugs on campus by Mr. Jones." Clarissa informed me and I quickly turned on my phone while Cyrus huffed from beside me. I shrugged and read the comments that came with the news. What? I know I have to mind my own business but tell me, what was the fun in that? Kezia was a rude wannabe tomboy in our school. She deserved what was coming for her. I was so sure that Cyrus was very much aware of this matter. He had once had a group of male students arrested the moment he had chanced upon them sharing cigarettes.
The moment we got home, I heard Cyrus and Xavier chuckling while Clarissa and I ran to my room to continue our daily juicy gossip.
