Chapter 4
-----
"Really? Let me see him!"
The young man's face lit up with excitement and his eyes sparkled with joy as he gently pulled the baby from the nurse's arms.
Traces of the umbilical cord were visible on his tiny belly. His limbs were thick and strong, and his deep blue eyes seemed to hold secrets of the universe.
Suddenly, a loud cry pierced the silence of the room, a strong and angry cry that shook the place, leaving the young man confused and astonished by this unusual sound for a newborn baby.
The baby looked wonderful, radiating the glow of new life and exuding a strange power.
"What a strong child!"
Priest Mildog smiled gently, caressing the baby's head with white light as if blessing his arrival. The baby surrendered to the priest's power and fell into a deep sleep.
"Please allow me to donate two thousand gold coins to the church to show my humble respect!"
The young man said with obvious appreciation for Priest Mildog.
Priest Mildog's expression froze for a moment before a greedy smile spread across his obsequious face.
"He will surely know of your good intentions!"
I will personally pray for the blessed child.
Although two thousand gold coins were rather meager for the young man's family, he could not ask for more because the donation was made in good faith.
Mildog looked rather elegant as he spoke with the young man before cleverly hinting that he should leave after receiving the generous donation.
Before leaving, the priest remembered something important.
"Hmm, I haven't asked the young gentleman's name yet..."
"Ruthvien! Ruthvien Ashild!" That's the name we've chosen for him!"
The young man exclaimed enthusiastically and proudly.
"Ruthvien? That's a good name."
The priest said his goodbyes and left with solemn steps.
The young man impatiently entered the delivery room to check on his exhausted wife, who smiled with a mixture of fatigue and happiness.
Neither of them noticed, however, that the baby had opened his eyes for a moment and looked around angrily, as if this luxurious world were his new prison.
His small eyes were filled with a murderous look that could not belong to a child born only minutes earlier. Exhaustion overcame him, and he closed his eyes again.
After a while, he opened his eyes and scanned his surroundings with eyes that were more intelligent than his years.
He saw the valuable carpets covering the floor, the sparkling silver crystal chandelier, the soft red blanket covering him, the large curtains embroidered with orchids, and finally, the many respectable maids and nurses who smiled at him tenderly.
This luxurious scene made it clear that Kiva (Ruthvien) belonged to the nobility, perhaps even the upper class, especially given the church's attention and the high-ranking priest who attended the blessed birth. Certainly, not every noble child's birth warranted such attention and protection.
The birth was followed by joyful celebrations. His father welcomed friends and noble families who came to congratulate them on the blessed birth.
However, in the quiet room upstairs, his mother could not sleep. Kiva (Ruthvien) continued to cry loudly. His cries were filled with anger and frustration. They thought he was crying because he saw strangers or maybe because he was in pain or had a hidden illness, but in reality, Kiva was cursing the shining light with all his might. He cursed it from the depths of his soul for bringing him into this strange world when all he wanted was to die.
"You bastard! You shining piece of trash! If I ever see you again, I'll tear your ass into little pieces, you arrogant son of a bitch!"
Ruthvien paused for a moment, exhausted, then thought, his eyes shining with a cunning intelligence unbefitting a child only a few hours old.
"You want to play like that? Fine! You'll see how I'll kill myself in this ridiculous world, you glowing piece of junk!"
