'Hmmnn… Junior brother, can you support me in the sides? While I'll take the main attacker.' Job asks while delegating what to do.
"Yes, but what's the plan, brother?" James asked.
Just don't let the other sigbins get close to me... this woman is stronger when her sigbin pets are around, she draws extra strength from the dark force of her pets.
These were just level 3 beasts, a level lower than the several Angab's that James' just killed while he was training with his father. So, he is confident in his strength to defeat these opponents.
Okay, brother, I'll take care of it. James replied immediately.
Oppps! Opps!
Thud. Thud.
James and Job jumped together in separate directions. Job headed towards the female witch while James headed towards the crowds of sigbin surrounding them.
Then the battle erupted immediately, every time James swung his curve dagger, one or two sigbin would fall... some were split apart from the body could no longer get up and died immediately... others were still able to dodge and still managed to fight and hit a few times. But because of the basic body defense spell that James had been taught by his father, only minor scratches and scrapes from the sharp claws of the sigbin could be seen on his body.
But on Job's side, the young man's situation at the hands of the female witch was not that good.
Job loses on offense because he is used to short range combat, while the female witch has a long reach because of her staff which possesses extra power from the dark spell.
So, after a few minutes, the upper part of Job's clothes was almost torn to pieces due to the blow from the witch.
When the witch saw the upper part of Job's body, the woman immediately thought of what she could do to Job if she brought him back to her cave.
"Hi-hi-hi-hi..."
'Just give up, handsome. I promise you won't suffer for me.' The woman's grinned as she teased Job.
Meanwhile, Job's hair stood on end when he noticed the strange look the female witch was giving him.
So, he couldn't help but think of other solution to solve their current predicament, losing is not an option to them.
'I wonder what James is faring in the other side?' Job whispered to himself... after which he makes a quick glance at James side.
When he saw the situation on the other side, he breathed a sigh of relief. They have a chance to turn the tide.
'Hmmnn...it's a good thing James is good at hand-to-hand combat and he's deadly, especially with his curve dagger.'
What he saw gave Job hope for the battle. And his courage grew.
"Hmmpp!" 'You're the one who gave up, witch, our back up will arrive in a moment...you know we're close to here.' Job replied to the woman's taunt.
'Hi-hi-hi… back up? This place is sealed, handsome.' 'Whose back up are you expecting?' The woman jokingly asked Job.
Job's face suddenly became serious...but he didn't let the woman in front of him notice his worry.
He knew to himself that once this place was sealed; it would take a while for their distress signal sent to their school to get out. or worst, maybe their signal wouldn't be received at all.
The chances of anyone coming to back them up were slim, but he knew that their chances of turning the situation around had increased. Especially since James had the upper hand in his fight on the other side.
Once James finishes off his opponents, he will be able to help him against this female witch.
Hmmp! Audacious!
Let's just see who wins at the end. Job's threat.
So, he passes the time and just keeps blocking ang parrying the opponent's strikes while occasionally watching James's fight with the sigbins on the other side.
But when the witch noticed Job's eyes, she followed him with her gaze... much to her surprise.
His pet sigbin is almost exhausted and the remaining three are struggling with James' offensives.
A few moments later, the last sigbin fell to the ground, breathless and their arms and legs cut off.
"Hahhhh…"
'Whew! That was so hard.' James admitted.
While he could be seen gasping for breath due to the fatigue of his fight.
"Wahhhh! You little animal! I'll kill you!"
The woman suddenly shrieks and turned her attack to James.
While this was happening, Job has been looking for an opportunity to land his strike on the woman. For almost a few minutes of their fight, he couldn't hit her because of the long reach of the woman's cane.
So, when the woman turned to James and ignored Job, he eventually took advantage of the given chance.
BAM! BANG!!
A punch strike from Job, hit squarely at the woman's back.
The woman who was about to hit James was suddenly thrown back.
The blow of the witch's cane did not hit James, because the trajectory was deflected as Job connected his punch to the woman from behind. But James still managed to jump to avoid the impact of the shockwave of that strike.
Job's power punch was supported by his Magic spell, which provided extra damage to the magical gloves he was wearing, and the three sharp stainless-steel blades caused even more lethal as it sank into the woman's back.
"Thanks, brother Job!"
'Very well brother, can you still fight?' Job askes James.
'Yes, brother... I can still support, even attack when there's opportunity.' James replied.
'Okay, just don't get hit... I'll charge in. If you have the chance, strike at your will, just make sure you can retreat immediately. Also, be careful of the poison the snake spits out of its stick, it slowly weakens our fighting power.'
'Got it brother.' James replied.
The two men occasionally parred or blocks some attacks of the witch, while they were discussing their strategy.
As the three continued their fight, James received minor injuries to his body, but Job as the one facing directly the woman, suffers major injuries.
Some strikes even throw Job to the ground.
Subsequently on the female witch side, because she no longer had the support of her pets, her attacks had also noticeably weakened. And the injuries, greatly weakens her defenses too, as such, she is already planning her escape plan if her situations worsen.
Few more minutes, Job and the woman exchanged more attacks several times, the two were almost unrecognizable due to the injuries on their respective bodies. Meanwhile, James unleashed several strikes that tormented the female witch, since James' strikes were deadly and targeted the woman's risky body parts, that if gets hit, it will lead her into more perilous situation.
Through their long period of coordination, James and Job were able to adjust to their team fight against their opponent.
So, when Job retreated again from another clash, Job cast a blink, this was a medium type spell that accelerated his movements and could reach five meters in just one second. Job used it to rush again at the female witch who had barely recovered from his strike earlier...
Due to the various injuries the woman sustained, she chose to dodge instead of parrying Job's strike... but this was her mistake, because James suddenly appeared behind her.
And with a combination slash of James's curve dagger, the last thing the woman saw was only an intersecting flash of light before she fell to the ground.
"Ahhhh!... ahhh…" The woman's last shriek until she was out of breath.
Thud!
Blaggg!
The witch's body fell to the ground, lifeless.
This was the first time James had killed a person – a human in flesh... although a female witch, an evil servant, but compared to the animals and beasts he had killed while training with his father, this was the first person he had killed with his hands.
So, James felt a little strange about the incident...he suddenly fell silent while Job was picking up the pieces of the sigbin's body...
James sat down where he was standing, and his body shook with the feeling that he had killed someone.
A little later, Job approached him.
Brother, it's okay... you'll get used to feeling that way too. Job's comforting.
The same thing happened to me the first time I killed someone... even though it was a bad person, my conscience still didn't accept it right away.
Just remember, if you didn't kill that witch, she would have been the one who killed us or worse, we would probably end up to be her human experiment now.
Take a rest there while I fix this mess.
As Job said that, James gradually felt better… His trembling disappeared, but he remained silent until Job had collected all the scattered parts of the sigbin, even the woman's staff, the snake coiled around it had become dried stuff.
While the woman suddenly became so dry, that you would think she had been dead for a long time because she looked like she had been mummified.
After placing the pieces of the sigbin's body in a black sack, Job immediately placed the woman's dried body in a separate sack and placed it in the back compartment of the car. This sack possessed spatial magic that could change size according to the owner's wishes.
After a while, the two continued on their journey.
.
.
Just as the two of them left the area, a young girl arrived...
She's gone... Sister, if only you had listened to what I said... but don't worry, I will take revenge on you. And saying this, the girl suddenly disappeared like smoke.
Meanwhile, Job and James knew nothing more about what had happened after they left the scene and especially the words spoken by the girl.
