I looked at the man in front of me" a warm smile rested at the corner of my lips" what more can a girl ask for" he was smart, handsome, loving and most importantly he was mine"
My heart pounded hard against my chest as he held my hand leading me to the dance floor" I became speechless as he got down on one knee" asking me to marry him
Everyone present at the Ballroom turned to look at us' we instantly became the centre of attention" surprised I turned and looked at my parents who stood in front of the crowd" they looked so happy' it was as if they already knew" he must have asked for my hand in marriage before proposing"
I turned and looked at Mason feeling like the happiest woman alive" and without hesitation I said yes' stretching my finger forward and he slipped the ring on it" the crowd cheered for us and we kiss deeply" it felt like I was in a fairytale' and I didn't want it to end
For the rest of the evening we danced and danced never tiring" when it was almost midnight he offered to drop me back home" my parents trusting him agreed to let him take me"
He opened the car door for me and I got in" normally he would let his chauffeur drive but tonight he wanted us to be alone" I watched him with a smile as he settled on the driver's seat" although we have been together for a year now I hadn't really expected him to propose tonight" it felt like everything was happening too fast' but who am I to complain" I was in love
We drove in silence" I kept stealing glances at him unable to believe we are officially engaged" I could finally call him my fiance

Mason" I called softly looking at him

It's okay you can open your eyes now" he says holding my hand" I was so scared I say squeezing his hand" he chuckles playfully shifting close to me

I feel my stomach twist as I seat in silence, I close my eyes feeling a strange heavyness inside my heart" I sigh looking outside the window a part of me feeling like something bad is about to happen" I can't point it out what it is but I know it's bad" my gut feeling is telling me and it's never wrong
Valarie Love' you look cute when you're angry" he says playfully touching my thighs
And just like that time slows down like it has been frozen" my heart jumps out of my chest" at the sound of screeching tires and flickering flashlights" the car rolls out of control
Horrific screams leave our lungs as the car crashes into a truck" my seatbelt snaps and I'm thrown out of the car by window
Miraculously I survive but my body hurts like hell" another horrific scream leaves my lungs as I feel a cold metal pierce through my stomach
I cry in pain as I lay on the side of the road drowning in my own pool of blood" my hand touches my stomach' I cry feeling how bad it is" I shut my eyes unable to gather the courage to look at the wound"
The pain is too much to bear" I want to let go but something in me won't allow me to stop breathing' maybe it's because I still have a lot to live for"
Each second that passes by with me on the side of the road I begin to lose hope" my breathing is shallow and it's becoming hard to keep my eyes open" it feels like I'm breathing my last today" with a blurry vision and tears in my eyes I turn and look at the sky" a distraction from the sad truth that I'm about to die anytime "
After hours of fighting with myself my body finally gave in and I lose consciousness giving into the darkness" after hours of laying on the cold road' an ambulance finally arrives to rescue us" but I have already passed out by then
