- Kayin's Mansion -
Kayin lay on his bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling. He glanced at his alarm clock — 12:15. Just ten minutes had passed since he left the lab.
"Maybe I'm just imagining it, like a bug on the crystal or something. I should probably just sleep-" Kayin cut himself off as he heard a faint explosion in the distance. "Or maybe not…"
He got off his bed and rushed off to his lab, though as soon as he got outside, he saw a burst of flames erupting from underground.
"What the—?!… A pyro type?!"
Kayin tried to move but his feet were locked in place. He looked down at his legs then his trembling hands. His breath got heavier and heavier. He knew what this feeling was. Pure Fear.
Memories of Bermuda kept flashing in his head. All the comrades, some of the few friends he had in this world dying in front of him.
Kayin could only grunt, bashing his leg in frustration, praying for his legs to move. He watched as a figure engulfed in flames burst out from within the whole as it flew away, and he could only stand there, frozen in fear.
He gulped as he closed his eyes, trying to ease his breathing. 'Stay calm, keep cool. stay calm, keep cool.' He repeated in his head as he started to calm down. "I need to get to that thing as fast as I can…"
- 6/02/60AI -
Kayin jumped into the lab through the hole. Shards of glass littered across the floor. Tiny rocks falling into the room. And a puddle of blood stained the metal floor.
He looked closer at the headless body on floor, and came to only one conclusion.
"EXO…"
Though he knew the matter at hand was far more serious and put the body aside. He left the room, going to a different room in the lab. This one was full of various weaponry. From swords to pistols, daggers and even armor. All made of a special white metal called chronosteel. Same as the one from his old armor back in Bermuda.
He then put on the armor, taking two of the guns as well as his daggers.
"I'm hunting one on my own now. How fun will that be." He said sarcastically to himself before taking off.
A minute later, kaying was running through the forest at a speed relative to that of a car, making sure to stay near the cliff, and able to see clearly thanks to the shard on his back.
'I know it's somewhere in forest. But where did land?' he thought to himself. 'I clearly didn't go to the nearby city unlike what others do. But why…'
Kayin immediately came to a halt as he felt his back freeze. He took out pistols, looking around and ready to fire. Then he saw it… The chronolokian, just sitting on the floor, it's eyes closed. It looked to be meditating. But why…?
I hadn't gone after cities, yet still willing to kill. While others seek destruction where ever they could, it was meditating.
He put these thoughts to the side aimed his guy at it's chest. A thing like that was too dangerous to be left unchecked. And without another thought, he pulled the trigger and fired the gun.
The chronolokian raised its hand, blocking the bullet with its palm. Kayin stood there in shock as it then slowly stood up, it's glowing red eyes shooting daggers at Kayin's heart.
'H-how… The only metal capable of piercing their skin, blocked like it was nothing.'
As he reached for his dagger's, the chronolokian was already in front of him, landing a powerful blow on his stomach. He was sent flying, hitting a tree behind him. Blood seeped out from his mouth as his vision began to blur.
He slowly stood up, each movement feld like needles to his body. Pulling out his daggers he coated them with the blood from his mouth the equipped them.
He dashed at the chronolokian, going for a downwards slash to the chest, though its blades retracted and it parried the attack with one, while the other stabbed through his heart.
Kayin fell to his knees, his blood staining the grass below him.
'Is this really it… is this how I die… By the same thing that killed my friends… I'm pathetic…'
The chronolokian then threw his body off the cliff into the ocean. As his body plumited down, the shard on his back started to glow an aqua blue, though hidden by the armour.
The water rose up, catching his body. A sphere of ice covered his body. His bleeding slowed down as she feld his blood rushing through his body once again.
The chronolokian looked down at the cliff, seeing the sphere of ice and the unnatural current flow and jumped off the cliff. Inside the sphere, Kayin opened his eyes, his vision still blurry. He looked around to see he was surrounded by ice.
'I guess… this makes it… not lethal…' he thought before the chronolokian busted through the ice and he passed out short after.
Kayin woke up, finding himself in his bed. Images of his earlier fight with the chronolokian flashed through his head. He then immediately felt for his chest to feel no wound. He wondered if it was a dream but the hole on the armor he still had on him said otherwise.
He looked at his counter, seeing the cube from his lab, now on it. He got off his bed, wanting to check on the lab, but as he left his front door, he was met with a person.
He was dark skinned. His appearance resembling that of the chronolokian's as he had the same hair and clothing. His back was turned to him, his hands covered with flames.
Kayin reached out the only weapon he had on him, his gun. He aimed it at the chronolokian, his hands trembling, hesitant to fire.
"Shoot… If you wish to die…" the person uttered as it's head turned to face him.
The glare shot straight through his heart, as he then lowers his gun.
"Who— What are you…?"
"I have a proposition for you."
