Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 The Second Talent

"What happened to Daryl?" Levis knew him; the student who left earlier was Daryl. Now that he thought about it, Daryl's face seemed to have an injury when they greeted each other earlier: "Is it because of the injury on Daryl's face?"

Colleen nodded, troubled, "Neo, that's an injury Daryl got from participating in an underground fight!"

"Underground fight?" Levis asked, surprised, "What's an underground fight? Why did Darylparticipate?"

Colleen looked at Levis, hesitant to speak.

"What is it?" Levis was about to hear Colleencontinue, but then she stopped.

"Nothing." Colleen shook her head, put away her worries, and perked up again, saying, "Neo, let's train!"

Alright, Colleen didn't want to say, so Levis didn't press further and began to focus on his own training.

Levis came home a bit late today, mainly because Colleen had something on her mind. During training, she seemed to be deliberately venting, full of energy, and Levis naturally chose to vent with her.

Danny was still the same, meditating by the door, waiting for Levis.

When Levis took out his key to open the door, he finally remembered to give Danny a spare, so that the guy wouldn't have to sit by the door every night like a thief, waiting for him to come back.

"Neo, guess what I saw this afternoon?" Danny's face lit up with excitement when he saw Levis, looking as if he had made a great discovery that afternoon.

"It's not like your parents are alive too, like Joey's dad, is it?" Levis sat on the sofa, teasing with a smile.

"Haha…" Danny gave a few awkward laughs and explained, "I really wish that were the case, but unfortunately, it's impossible."

"Uh huh?" Levis shrugged and continued to look at Danny.

"Alright, it was an old acquaintance!" Danny grew more excited as he spoke: "Of course, what's more important is that she believes me!"

"She?"

"Yes, Attorney Jie Qian (J-Money) used to be a legal department intern in my father's office!"

Levis frowned upon hearing this; the connection was quite far-fetched.

"Alright, even though the connection is a bit far-fetched, but this Attorney… Qian, is that her name? Why does she believe you?" Levis asked.

Danny then explained in detail how he went to visit his parents that afternoon, how he learned about this lady, and how he came into contact with her.

Indeed, secrets between people can accelerate the close connection between them.

Just like Danny and this former legal department intern from Rand Group.

"So what are you planning to do?" Levis thought for a moment and then rephrased his question: "Or, what advice did that lady give you?"

"She said she could help me get the company back!" Danny said excitedly.

"OK, that's impressive!" Levis praised, then continued to ask, "How much does she want?"

"She doesn't want money." After saying that, seeing Levis's puzzled expression, Danny added, "She said that after she helps me get Rand Groupback, all I have to do is promise that her law firm will always represent Rand Group."

Levis exclaimed "666!"

To be able to help get the company back right away, and with such long-term vision for profit, it's no wonder she's a U.S. lawyer with boundless prospects!

This line of work earns far more than the hard-earned money Levis makes every night.

Levis glanced at Danny, who was sitting on the sofa, restless and exhilarated, and couldn't help but sigh with emotion.

Judging by the current situation, this guy Danny is probably going to have a change of luck very soon. From a homeless person to a billionaire with billions in assets, it's simply a life-inspiring example.

Levis decided that tonight he would do one more round, because one more round might earn him more money, and he wanted to achieve financial freedom as soon as possible.

Under the coast of Tony Stark's sea-view Villa in Malibu, Los Angeles, waves crashed, one after another, hitting the shore.

Inside the Villa, there was also a great surge of waves. Tony Stark reveled in the waves, and as soon as he heard the prompt in his headphones, he immediately cut off Jarvis's diary broadcast.

Tonight, he, Tony Stark, only wanted to crush the waves, or be crushed by the waves!

Levis was a bit impatient tonight. After hurriedly writing his diary, he started drawing prizes as if rushing to a show.

Skipping all foreplay, he went straight to the main event.

10.

10.

Treasure chest! Unfortunately, it was another White board chest.

Opening the chest, a blue light cluster jumped out.

Levis's eyes lit up. A White board chest yielding a blue quality reward was probably the only comforting thing about tonight's draw!

After a moment, the blue light cluster still hadn't disappeared!

Did he draw a talent again?!

With his previous experience, Levis reached out to the light cluster with pleasant surprise.

A familiar sensation surged into his mind again, but this time the information received was clearly not as vast as last time.

Levis opened his eyes, his expression excited.

It really is a talent!

Levis didn't know if this counted as good luck or bad luck.

[Talent: Mastery of Fighting]

[Effect: Possessing it, you can quickly master any fighting technique. The higher the level of Mastery of Fighting, the faster you master techniques. The highest level talent automatically advances to Fighting Proficiency]

This... is actually only blue?

Levis was puzzled. He felt this talent was clearly very strong! Is this the Marvel Universe with its distorted combat power?

Seeing the prompt that [Mastery of Fighting] could be upgraded, Levis's heart stirred. He seemed to have two ability points left unused.

So Levis unhesitatingly clicked upgrade, then checked his panel.

[Level: 3]

[Growth Value: 300 / 381]

[Ability Points: 1]

[Talents: Strong Body (2), Mastery of Fighting(2)]

[Skills: None]

It really upgraded successfully! Seeing that one ability point was gone and the talent had correspondingly leveled up, Levis was invigorated.

With one ability point remaining, Levis glanced at the only two talents he had drawn, and put away his diary with a slight regret.

Although he kept one ability point and didn't put it all into [Mastery of Fighting], he actually hoped to add it to the [Strong Body] talent, but unfortunately, this talent couldn't be added.

In that case, Levis might as well keep one point; he could always see the effect of the new talent first.

Leaving the study, Danny was still awake. Levisgreeted him and then left with his small backpack.

Levis had noticed Colleen was preoccupied that afternoon, so as soon as training ended, he asked Daryl about the underground fight.

Therefore, tonight, he planned to go to Colleen's place first to check the situation.

At the dojo, Colleen was indeed not there.

Levis stood outside the door, holding his bag, then turned and left. He figured Colleen must have gone to the place Daryl mentioned for the underground fight.

This place was a bit remote; without a familiar person leading the way, most people really wouldn't find it.

Anyway, Levis felt he probably couldn't find it, so he paid Daryl 100 U.S. dollars.

After walking in, Levis observed the place; it was extremely rudimentary.

A large iron cage in the middle served as the fighting arena, and the enthusiastic audience crowded around the outside of the cage.

Even on the high platform above, several layers of people stood packed together.

Levis stood in the crowd, feeling the barbaric atmosphere all around him.
