Chapter 3 - First few days

Waiting at the desk after checking the prices and effects of the fruits he currently has, Ryker drums his fingers against the counter, waiting before a gray window pops up [quest: sell 1 of each product, reward: Dr. Salt product line]

Starting to crave a drink, Ryker hopes he can finish this quest fast. While it's not as good as his favorite drink, Mtn Mist, he can't deny that they both taste amazing, and a cold soda would definitely help him pass the time as he dreams of different refreshing drinks. The door opens and a ding sounds out from it. Looking over Ryker quickly and politely says, "Welcome to the hypermarket store." Looking over his first customer, he sees a sword hanging around his waist. The young man, without bothering to respond, walks through the store. "Store clerk? What is this?" the man asks, holding up a coconut. "That, sir, is a stone coconut that can be used to help with earth qi and mana. Or grinding up its shell can help increase muscle recovery and strengthening after a workout out" Ryker quickly repasts what he read about the coconut when he scanned them earlier.

The man walks up to the counter with 2 of the stone coconuts. "How much?" "That would be six in-store credits or two qi stones or three core mana gems," Ryker repeated the conversion rates the system had given him when the man asked. The man looked a little surprised, but still handed him two qi stones. "I hope this is worth it, or else I'll tell the whole knight order that this store is a scam." Holding the two stones, Ryker opens the small drawer on the counter and puts them in there.

feeling pretty good about having his first customer as the day passes, sadly no one else comes in, and an orange hue starts to come through the window, showing the world it's time to end the day, calling out the cleaning bot using the app he locks the door and turns off the neon sign before heading through the storage room and back up the stairs to the small house deciding to fully explore it he looks through the kitchen, finding nothing besides the appliances like the oven fridge and sink the cupboards where empty.

"Really? Gave me nothing hyper?" Ryker says to continue behind the couch to the three doors that are evenly apart, opening each head to identical rooms with a bed, desk, and shelf in each. The final door being on the left wall behind the couch, leads to a bathroom where he desperately needs to shower and do other things.

After a steaming shower and some time in the bathroom, Ryker comes out feeling refreshed. Like the shower cleaned away the thoughts that were troubling him just a little. He decides to lie down but without anything to distract him like normal, his thoughts start wandering to his family again, making him weep. Deciding to hit his pen again to distract himself with something for a little while, he slowly drifts to sleep, tears staining his cheeks and pillow.

The next morning, he wakes up groggy, they go downstairs, grabbing two coconuts and putting them into the bin, and Ryker goes to the other bin, before taking an apple to snack on as his hunger is finally getting to him too much. Biting through the apple with a crisp crunch, "Dang these are pretty good," he continues to eat the apple before remembering to open the store by unlocking the door and turning on the sign before heading back to the stool behind the counter, placing the apple core in a drawer that has a trash can label on it that's closer waist level.

Continuing to wait, the day slowly passes until the door dings again when two sword-carrying young men walk in, one from yesterday, the other new. "Welcome to the hypermarket, I hope you enjoyed the products you bought." Ryker puts on a smile, taking in both of their appearances as they talk, the one from yesterday, a tall, lanky, long blond-haired teen with a dark tan "Yes, it was really helpful actualy, my name is Zor from the Thorn Knight Order" the other teen with short black hair and a lighter tan speaks "I am Tethorth from the Thorn Knight Order" his left hand resting on his hilt under it in a relaxed fashion.

"Glad to meet you both, I am the owner of the store, my name is Ryker. Feel free to go grab what you need." He says happy to see that the knight has already returned and even brought someone else. The two teens go through the store picking up an apple and a coconut each before coming to the counter, both handing him two qi stones. "Sure, you don't want to also take a banana? Zero out your store credit?" Ryker pushes, hoping to complete his quest for that sweet drink he's craving. "No, sir, but what do the apples do?" Zor asks since he didn't get them yesterday, "They help with fiery qi and mana, but can also be used as a weapon since if you throw it in fire, it explodes after a few seconds." Ryker says, swiping the stones into the top drawer.

"Thanks, bossman," Tethorth says, walking out the door holding it for Zor. The day continues as Ryker sits on his stool behind the counter, wondering if anyone else will show up. Hours pass as they wait, looking out the windows, watching the foot traffic to pass the time, a well-dressed woman walks in. "This is cleaner than I expected for being in this neighborhood." "Welcome to the hypermarket, feel free to take a look around," Ryker says their practiced line with ease.

"You wouldn't have any poison antidote pills, would you?" the noble-looking woman asks coming to the counter "No miss the closest thing we have to combat poison, for now is the sea banana not only does it help with water qi, and mana but cutting it up and putting it in will liquid will show if it was poisoned by foaming up destroying the poison in the process" Ryker puts out his best sales pitch to not only get her to buy but to also finishes his quest.

The woman taps her foot for a few minutes before returning with three bananas. "How much?" "Three in store credits the conversion rate is two for one core mana gem or three for a qi stone," Ryker says realizing he should probably make a sign about the conversion rates than remembering how the rules show up on the board he figures he can just put them on there once hes done with her. She puts a banana to the side and gives him a mana gem before taking the other two bananas and leaving. As soon as she leaves, the gray screen appears

[quest complete, reward Dr. Salt has been stored in the storage room] [tutorial quest finished, quest menu is now active on the computer] Before checking the computer, Ryker runs to the storage room and sees a pallet of soda cans surrounded by a clear wrap holding them together, quickly tearing apart the top of the wrap Ryker grabs them bringing as many that would fit in two rows of the cooler. stocking the sleeve up before taking one himself after letting it cool in the still empty freezers before heading to the stool to look at what the computer now has. Seeing a new icon of a paper scroll, the mouse clicks opening the tab.
