Chapter Four – Introduction to the World
After leaving the hospital, Unknown walked beside Ibrahim.
Ibrahim said to him,
"Since you've lost your memory, Unknown, I'll explain where we are now and tell you more about the world we live in."
Unknown looked at Ibrahim, then nodded, signaling that he would listen.
When Ibrahim saw his response, he continued:
"In our current world, there are ten countries and ten organizations that divide the planet among themselves. Naturally, some are more powerful than others—but that's a topic for another time. Each one of these nations has its own unique system, but what unites them all… is the development of what's called a Doom Bomb."
Unknown looked at Ibrahim with confusion:
"A bomb? What is that?"
Ibrahim replied:
"Alright, to make it simple and help you grasp just how powerful this bomb is… I want you to look out as far as you can."
By coincidence, they were walking across an open plain.
So Unknown complied, looking as far into the horizon as he could.
Ibrahim said:
"A long distance, right?"
Unknown nodded.
Ibrahim continued:
"Now imagine that distance multiplied ten times. That would be vast, wouldn't it?"
Unknown answered:
"Yes… enormous."
Ibrahim's face darkened.
"That's the radius within which everything would vaporize if this bomb were used.
And that's nothing compared to its secondary effects.
The side effects and the lingering aftermath of such a bomb are enough to kill every living thing on this planet."
"And there are twenty of them—each one controlled by what's called the Twenty Peaks."
Unknown's eyes widened at the scale of the bomb's power.
Something inside him burned—a sensation he couldn't yet understand.
A desire that would keep glowing… until it consumed him completely.
But that's for another time.
When Ibrahim reached the part about the Twenty Peaks, Unknown asked:
"Who are these Twenty Peaks?"
Ibrahim's face grew darker, depression settling into his features. He looked around to make sure no one else was nearby, then whispered:
"Twenty lunatics.
Brought together by their genius and their madness.
Imagine twenty people with the highest IQs humanity has ever recorded…
united by the discovery of a strange form of energy.
It started as a theory, but then a cosmic event occurred—a phenomenon picked up by deep-space monitoring systems—which proved the idea true."
"And by coincidence, the leader of this group was one of the richest individuals in modern history.
With global support—promised with lies like 'we'll stop deadly asteroids that threaten life on Earth'—
and official authorization from all nations,
they developed twenty missiles capable of mimicking even a fragment of that cosmic force."
"But here's the absurd part—"
Ibrahim's face turned red with anger as he continued:
"They divided the world into twenty summer resorts—for themselves and those they choose.
Everyone else became their workers.
Gathering money, studying to serve them.
And what's worse…
is that the rest of the people can't do anything but accept this system.
No job without certification.
No money without work.
No food without money.
And without food… life dies."
A strange glint appeared in Unknown's eyes.
Then he asked:
"So… if the Twenty Peaks were to die… would all of this end?
Would the world return to what it once was?"
Ibrahim's face turned even grimmer.
He looked into Unknown's eyes and said:
"Don't even think about that.
Yes, those twenty are insane.
But they're also the smartest people in recorded history.
That's why they prepared a response in advance.
They implanted the bomb control systems inside their own bodies."
"If any of them dies—for any reason—the bomb goes off.
And when one bomb detonates, the others follow.
That would destroy the entire planet we live on."
"You see… they made a pact before creating the bombs:
'Life without any one of us is meaningless.'
So if one of them perishes… the rest end their lives too."
"That's why—even though there are differences in power between these summer resorts—
I mean, between the ten nations and ten organizations—
they're all treated on the same level."
"And remember—never insult anyone wearing the emblem of any of these nations or syndicates.
For any reason. Never.
I'll show you those symbols after we finish buying your essentials."
Ibrahim said this with a faint light in his eyes—hope, perhaps.
But when he looked back at the boy, he hid that hope deep inside.
As for Unknown,
the burning sensation within him grew even more intense.
But it seemed he wasn't yet aware of it.
And so, they continued walking quietly…
Unaware that a hidden camera nearby…
had recorded everything.
