Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - A Tease in the Woods

Lao Xie glanced over his shoulder, a smirk curling at the corner of his lips.

For a moment, he thought of leaving her hanging but something appeared in his mind.

"Why wouldn't I?" he answered, his voice smooth and lazy as he turned fully to face her.

His golden eyes swept over her with slow intent. Even in such a state, she looked very stunning. Her robes barely hid the soft curves of her beautiful body.

His eyes slowly gazed upward, captivated by the shape of her unarguably soft plums before moving up to her face. A few loose strands of her hair framed her delicate features, making her look exceptionally beautiful.

His eyes moved down to her slender waist, tracing the graceful shape of her figure. Her long red hair, shined like flames and tied back in a high ponytail, the strands flowing down her back like a waterfall.

Each detail stirred a deep-seated desire within him, and he made no effort in hiding it. She was like a vision, and Lao Xie was drawn to her like a moth to a flame.

Lao Xie's gaze took its time, moving from her neck to her collarbone. His smirk grew as he saw her body react to his stare. She seemed full of life, her beauty strong and tempting.

"Who wouldn't help a beautiful girl when she's… this helpless?" His voice dropped to a low and teasing voice before he let his eyes travel down her body again.

Her eyes widened slightly, but instead of fear, there was a glimmer of something different... perhaps intrigue?

Her breath quickened, though she seemed to revel in the tension he created. "T-thank you, Senior Brother," she stammered, her voice's a little shaky but soft.

Lao Xie took a step closer, closing the distance between them. He reached out, his fingers lightly tracing the edge of her soft, trembling lips. Her body reacted to his touch, leaning in slightly.

He chuckled softly, the sound dark and inviting. "You seem nervous," he murmured, his tone playful and teasing. "But don't worry. I'm not asking for much in return." He teased, his smirk deepening as he saw her pulse quicken, but she stood her ground, her gaze locked onto his.

"Isn't it obvious about what it is that i want? " he added, leaning in just enough for her to catch the faint scent of his presence, intoxicating and close.

The girl's face flushed, a mixture of excitement and confusion flickering across her features. Yet, her eyes sparkled with intrigue, clearly unable to resist the allure of his charm.

Her breath hitched slightly, but there was no retreat in her posture. Instead, she held her chin a little higher, meeting his gaze with a mixture of boldness and curiosity.

"What do you mean?" she asked, her voice steady, though her heart raced.

He lowered his voice to a sultry whisper. "Imagine what we could do together… just the two of us in this quiet forest." he murmured, his gaze locking onto her enchanting eyes, watching the way her lips parted slightly in breathless anticipation.

His sultry whispered made her heart racing undoubtedly fast and her face slowly turning beet red.

Noticed this, a playful smirk returning to his lips as he noticed her interest intensifying. The tension in the air crackled, but he felt a change stirring within him, an exhilarating thrill.

"Seems like I've teased you too much." He paused, letting the words hang in the air. "Relax. I was just playing around." His tone softened, almost coaxing, but the mischief in his golden eyes never fully disappeared.

Lao Xie paused for a moment, he considered of leaving her in this state of uncertainty. But he changed his mind.

"Really, I was just messing with you. I didn't mean to throw you off," he said, flashing her a disarming smile that almost made him seem innocent, even as the intensity in his gaze lingered.

The girl blinked, her heart still racing as the warmth in his demeanor settled over her. Disappointment washed over her like a cold wave.

"So, it was just a game?" She felt a small feelings of regret, wondering why she had let herself get carried away with the moment.

His words echoed in her mind, teasing and light-hearted, yet she couldn't help but wish for something more serious.

Lao Xie stepped back slightly, giving her some space while the warmth in the air lingered. "You shouldn't take everything so seriously,"

Then continued, his voice calm and smooth. "Especially with a stranger." He shrugged casually, as if their encounter had been nothing more than a harmless tease.

She hesitated, feeling the weight of his gaze and the bittersweet reality settling in. "Why did you have to say that?" she thought, a flutter of conflict stirring within her.

"I don't think i would mind if it were you. You're handsome, powerful, and rich in resources..."

Her fingers unclenched from the hem of her robes, but the earlier thrill had dimmed, replaced by a bittersweet feeling.

"Y-you were just joking?" she asked, her voice steadying despite the disappointment that hung in the air.

"Of course," Lao Xie replied with a smirk, leaning closer. "Did you really think I was serious? Were you expecting more?" His golden eyes sparkled with mischief, a teasing glint that made her heart race.

The girl's face flushed, embarrassment creeping in as she quickly shook her head. "N-no! I wasn't expecting anything!" she stammered, her shyness evident as she glanced away, unable to meet his gaze.

"Why did I let myself think there was something more?" she said inwardly.

"And wait.. since when was I'm this shameless.. You stupid Ruxin.."

Lao Xie chuckled softly, clearly enjoying her flustered reaction. "Really? It sounded like you were hoping for something more exciting," he teased, his playful tone making the air between them feel electric.

She bit her lip, flustered by his words and the way he looked at her. "I-I didn't! I just thought…" She trailed off, feeling the heat rise in her cheeks. "Thank you, Senior Brother. I appreciate your help."

Lao Xie waved a hand dismissively, still smirking. "Think nothing of it. Just try not to get into trouble again." He said, transforming the tension that had hung between them into a lighthearted exchange, but the weight of her embarrassment lingered.

The girl offered a small, hesitant smile in return, "I will. Thank you again Senior Brother."

As she turned to leave, he called after her, a hint of challenge in his voice. "Next time, maybe I won't hold back."

With that, Lao Xie watched her go, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips. "It is too early for that. Ling Ruxin, we'll definitely cross paths again," he said, his grin wide and playful.

"Having a good-looking face makes everything easier," he added, slowly revealing a wicked smile.

Ding~

A soft chime echoed in the air as a panel appeared before him, glowing softly.
