Only the sun was up in the sky. The whole view was as white as scattered wheat flour. The dazzling scenery could blind Artemis, but she didn’t squint her eyes and just pulled back the bowstring tight, pointing it at the cloudless sky. The bow’s limb curved into an arch shape. Pulling the string, the tense muscles in her right arm made their presence felt above her skin. Artemis pulled the string back until it reached its limit, then released the string. She repeated the action.
Twang–– Twang–– Twang––
It was the only noise she made in the silent field.
Apollo thought it was hopeless to sleep, so he sat up. He was wearing a piece of purple garment on his entire body while leaving one side of his chest bare. Golden sandals were on his feet; a golden band, spread thin like a ribbon, was crossed and tied below his knees.
