Chapter 6 - Return of the Archmage #3

A black pool and a dark sky. Starless night, with a single comet slowly carving a demonic path across that canvas, burning a purplish red like a single bloodied violet blown across a blackened grass field by a screaming torrent.

He stood up on the black watery surface.

He felt no traces of the earlier flashbacks.

So quiet.

He lit a cig in relief. Thankfully he still had his Mevius in wherever the hell he was right now.

There was a figure in the distance, wearing a billowing black and blue Maler's robe -besides that, nothing existed in the space.

He approached the figure - and he had a sinking suspicion just who it was.

"Tren Klavir." He grabbed Klavir's shoulder and turned him round. "Just what the fuck did you do?"

Li Tanrin finally got a good look at his new body's face.

Tren Klavir looked like your typical Moros-Tyrian, with olive-toned leathery skin, angry thick brows, dark eyes, and a long nose. He did look kinda mature. Mature. Not old.

The Tren Klavir before him now looked at him with those dispassionate, cold, angry eyes. His temple still sported blood and a gashing wound from the suicide attempt, and he wore a dark silver pendant with three crosses overlaid atop each other housing a red jewel.

"You're a Worldwalker?" Tren Klavir spoke harshly.

"So what if I am? How the fuck are you here? What did you do to yourself? Are you insane?"

"I summoned you. The sacrificial spell worked. I gave my soul to #error#DAGN#error# and my prayers were answered. It promised me revenge."

What the actual fuck. Fuck you God. How the fuck did you mess up a transmigration.

"Well. Fuck you. I didn't want to be summoned. I came for my own revenge."

"Then we can work together. I gave you my body -a potent body that I imbued with plenty of madness -which I took away when I left it, but now the power remains."

"Well thank you. And no fuck you. I'm not helping you."

He sneered. "Then I'll haunt you till you die of madness. I've plenty where that came from."

Li Tanrin rolled his eyes. "Listen, you little brat. You should've just kept your body and trained for revenge or whatever. Or just keel over and die for real. I'm not here to help you, you nit-picking scampwamp. I've got grander business."

Tren Klavir smiled a ghostly smile. "Like what? Defeating Sicelboros? Or killing your friends who betrayed you?"

Li Tanrin felt like he'd been slapped.

He sneered, "yeah, I know everything about you, Ewan Sorrenswal. Great Archmage of Moros Tyr, the fifth ever dragonlord. Said to be greater than the ancient god-sorceror Maler himself! I did my homework. I knew your death had to be a fluke. Hah. The sorceror of the party died before anyone else. To someone like Sicelboros too. Feh. What a joke."

Li Tanrin repressed the urge to smack the fucking kid. "Alright, mister know-all. Why the fuck do you even need my help if you have such information and the ability to contain madness within yourself? You could've just prayed to your god whom I shall not name and fucking get it over with. No way you can lose to some mage assassin sporting a Core Rune of the shitty Khoteph's language."

He sneered again. Fuck. Li Tanrin seriously wanted to give the idiot a good smack for that stupid ass-licking sneer.

"What do you know about it? So you felt my disturbance. That's a good sign. I have great control over my body yet, due to #error#DAGN's#error# power. I know the fucking assassin. Prumas Ingelius. Level six certified mage. Moros-Tyrian, living in Moros Tyr city, Euphalia district. I went after that son of a bitch already, and tortured him for what he knew. It was obviously corruption from the top. No way my father and mother could have been approached by a foreign assassin -they were Moros-Tyrian level four certified mages working for the Moros Tyr city's defensive rune layout.

Anyhow -the real killer is Luina Agalene, your friend who accompanied you through Maler's. She gave the green light on the Klavir house's greatest rival the Flintettes to wipe us off the map. The Flintettes came from fucking Skrache. They probably got Skrache royal backing to tear apart the defensive layout of Moros Tyr city -that's all what Skrache cares about. So they influenced the great thunder prayer bitch Agalene who doesn't know shit and doesn't care shit for Moros Tyr because she. Is. A. Worldwalker."

"Watch your mouth, you scamp. Don't you fucking talk shit about Luina Agalene."

Though she is truly a bitch.

Tren Klavir sneered again and this time Li Tanrin couldn't help it and slapped him.

The boy looked shocked.

Li Tanrin breathed a lungful of Mevius. "Alright. Fuck you. I know enough. I wanted to take down Luina Agalene anyways. This'll be nothing to me. You promise to leave the body to me in peace afterwards?"

Tren Klavir gritted his teeth. "Yes. Of course. I have no wish of living where I cannot slay that Worldwalker that took away my family. I'll not bother you anymore once I have my revenge."

"Fine then. Stop bothering the fuck out of me and let me progress in peace. I'll kill Luina before the red moon -you have my word." He closed his eyes. "Oh. And what did you do to that level six mage? He should've been tough for you to handle."

Tren Klavir smiled gleefully.

"Oh don't you worry about old Prumas. He's still in the basement -probably starving to death, which I advise you to let him do so."

Li Tanrin shrugged. "Whatever."

The dreamscape started to dissolve -the black water underfoot rippling with turbulence and the baleful star landed and imploding far far away, creating a nova that spread across the horizon, lighting the dark line white.

"See you then, Tren. You'll have your revenge."

The young man nodded. "Glad to see you're a man of business. I had feared a goody two shoes. But I was certain it would be you who would return to finish the task." Saying that he sighed, "if I only I could be reincarnated too, back in time to a happier time."

Li Tanrin gave him a cig. "I'll put in a word for you with God. Don't get your hopes up though. Have fun living in the back of my new head now."

Tren Klavir nodded and accepted the cig. "I'll see you. Tell my sister I love her."

Li Tanrin nodded before suddenly realizing.

"Wait.

What sister?"

Tren Klavir smiled a peaceful smile for the first time and gave him the finger.

Li Tanrin returned the finger with a vengeance before the dream collapsed.

Utterly.

Fuck.
