"Splendid! But I imagine you have more secrets, don't you?" Binah said, clapping and smiling as she watched Ye Lan, who had now fully assimilated with his E.G.O.
"Of course. But right now, I need to deal with the fake you first."
With a beat of his wings, the entire facility was plunged into darkness. As his co-conspirator who also remembered the countless loops, Angela naturally didn't mind helping Ye Lan with this small favor.
The containment units for the three birds opened. Drawn to Ye Lan's own Abnormality-like state, the three Abnormalities flew toward him.
The breach alarms and camera feeds for their escape were erased by Angela. The image on A's Cognition-Filtered screen still showed only employees heading toward the Architecture Team.
This false Arbiter was the final obstacle. To overcome it, neither Ye Lan nor Angela minded revealing abilities beyond the comprehension of others, as long as it was within the script.
A few minutes later, the three birds converged with Ye Lan in front of the elevator leading to the Architecture Team.
"Please, lend me your strength," Ye Lan said, extending his now-clawed hands. The three birds cried out, as if answering his plea.
Having successfully completed their final observations, the birds began their work.
Punishing Bird tore its own body apart, transforming into a giant mouth that merged with the vertical maw on Ye Lan's body.
Judgement Bird lowered its eternally tilted scales, its feathers turning into bloody bandages that replaced the old ones on Ye Lan's body.
Finally, Big Bird fixed all of its eyes on Ye Lan. Beams of dim yellow light connected to the eyes on his wings. Big Bird dissolved into the light, becoming Ye Lan's new set of wings.
The E.G.O. Overclock Ye Lan now displayed was not the [Monstrosity] he had shown before, but the true [Apocalypse Bird], synchronized with the three birds.
The immense creature lifted the scales from the ground, and with a single flap of its wings, it appeared instantly in the main lounge of the Architecture Team, separating the Arbiter from the Rabbits who were buying time.
"Why is there a new monster at a time like this!" Startled by the Abnormality-like Ye Lan, Myu immediately led the surviving Rabbits into a nearby corridor. While it didn't offer an escape from the Arbiter's attacks, it at least allowed them to observe from a distance.
"Please disregard the monster. The Manager advises that your target remains the false 'Arbiter'," Angela's voice cut in, intercepting Myu's query to A. She then used the Manager's authority to command them to ignore Ye Lan and continue their attack.
"Damn it. Is that shitty Manager too scared to even talk to me face-to-face?" Myu cursed under her breath before shouting to her team, "Everyone, ignore the monster, continue attacking the Arbiter!"
Instantly, the barrels of their guns poked out from the corridor entrance, firing precisely at the Arbiter in front of Ye Lan.
Then, Ye Lan shook the scales in his hand. The unjust judgment was passed. The Arbiter, deemed a sinner, instantly lost her defensive capabilities. For the first time, the Rabbit Team's bullets dealt significant damage.
"The attacks are effective! That monster is helping us!" Myu was genuinely surprised, but the opportunity was fleeting. "Everyone, unload all your ammo! Don't stop even if your weapons break or you get torn to pieces! Attack! Attack!"
The slightly-damaged Arbiter gave Ye Lan a cold smile. Countless massive, pillar-like "Keys" materialized around her. They flew in bizarre, tracking-missile-like arcs, shooting at Ye Lan from angles he couldn't defend.
"Bring it on!" Ye Lan responded, though his Abnormality-like form could only produce a distorted screech. The eyes on his wings glowed brightly, instantly destroying all the "Keys" the Arbiter had launched.
But the next moment, he was bound by innumerable chains. The phantom of a dull yellow "Lock" appeared on his body, rendering him immobile.
Crap, so this is the power of an undegraded 'Lock'?
The giant bird that was Ye Lan struggled fiercely, but the Arbiter didn't press her advantage. Instead, she vanished in a flash of blue light.
"Calling all personnel. The 'Arbiter' has been confirmed in the Control Team. All units, please provide support immediately."
A few minutes later, a "Key" suddenly pierced through a wall and struck Ye Lan, unlocking the chains but also inflicting a grievous wound.
Enduring the searing pain of being impaled, the giant bird flew instantly to the Control Team. Its chest-maw opened, tearing off the Arbiter's left arm in an instant, before a shockwave of energy from her slammed him into the ground.
The injured Arbiter glanced at Ye Lan, who was gradually reverting to his human form, then used W Corp's spatial-tearing Singularity to teleport into the Training Team.
The moment she stepped out of the spatial rift, her invisible "Faeries" caused all containment units in the department to melt down. If no one entered to manage the Abnormalities soon, they would all breach.
A, managing the overall situation, immediately ordered four employees in ALEPH-class E.G.O. to handle the situation. Meanwhile, Ye Lan, knocked out of his Apocalypse Bird assimilation, rushed into a containment unit in the Control Team.
The Magic Bullet Shooter leaned against a wall, puffing on his pipe. Seeing Ye Lan enter with a devastating wound that had pierced his abdomen and taken his left kidney, he tossed his pipe to him.
Ye Lan caught the pipe and put it in his mouth. He and the Magic Bullet Shooter instantly merged. Indigo flames burned in his eyes. A hunting rifle, along with a flaming contract, appeared in his hands.
An incomprehensible multi-layered magic circle lit up at the muzzle. Six consecutive bullets instantly pierced the Arbiter all the way in the Training Team, leaving six cauterized, gaping holes in her body.
Then, the seventh bullet, the one Ye Lan hadn't fired, appeared out of thin air behind him and pierced his heart.
"Hiss... damn, that hurts... The Magic Bullet Shooter, who killed all his loved ones... his seventh bullet will strike his own heart... Heh, but I only fired six shots."
Clutching the wound in his chest, Ye Lan stumbled and fell into the main lounge of the Architecture Team.
