Chapter 16 - Holy War (Part 2)

Saitama Prefecture, Internet Coffe.

"I failed again!" Shiori clenched her fists and looked at Takumi: "Did you send the post?"

"No."

Takumi shook his head and smiled bitterly. In front of him was a webpage without sufficient permissions. Shiori had induced him to participate in the holy war, and inexplicably, he had joined a female group. As an author, he pretended to be a fan, which made Takumi feel a little subtle.

"I say, Shiori..."

Takumi opened the chat and looked at the conversation log: "Is it really appropriate for you to involve me in this 'Alliance of Older Sisters Who Love Shota'? I'm a man..."

"It doesn't matter, I'm the administrator; as long as I don't say anything, no one will know your identity."

Shiori focused on refreshing the webpage, ignoring Takumi's complaints: "There are many transvestites in this alliance, and it doesn't matter if you're one more. Refresh the page quickly, I can't get in, this membership mode is a pain!"

The internet has fiber optics, and the connection success rate is much better than other home and corporate networks, but if the forum opens membership mode, no matter how good the network is, it will be useless.

"I think I'll forget it."

Takumi turned around and advised: "Anyway, we've already taught them a lesson, so it's better to stop."

"It's the only way."

Shiori, disheartened, looked up again: "But the forum isn't good, we can also post on Twitter and force them to apologize!"

Her eyes lit up, 'isn't that a good way?'

"I'll tell the sisters to change positions immediately!"

Shiori opened the chat window excitedly and froze: "Hackers? How can there be hackers?"

A screenshot appeared in the chat, which was the hacker's statement Kurosawa saw.

With a "swipe," Takumi, beside her, stood up: "Shiori, if I remember correctly, hacking a forum is a crime, right?"

"Yes."

Shiori frowned slightly. 'High school students might not know this, but she understood that hacking, for whatever reason, was a crime:' "But hackers are very cunning, and no one knows where they hide."

The Reasoning Association forum has no relation to politics or military affairs, and the police will not search for hackers because of it. Shiori believes it is not a big problem.

"Ding-a-ling-ling..."

Takumi's mobile phone rang.

"I'll go out for a bit."

He left the booth and answered.

"Takumi, I need your help!" Kurosawa's voice was heard: "Your fans are going to cause trouble on the internet, please go and convince them."

"Are you referring to the hacker issue?"

"You know?"

"Yes, I'm online." Takumi frowned and said: "Will this matter implicate us? We haven't done anything..."

"You're right, but it will be troublesome if it goes to court." Kurosawa smiled bitterly: "The media will ruin the company and your reputation, and your future will also be affected."

Kurosawa was most worried about others catching him. 'What if the Mystery Association framed them for the holy war and said they incited the fans?'

"Go and convince them; no matter the effect, you don't have to be afraid if you show your attitude."

Show attitude? Takumi was a little stunned, and then he suddenly realized. 'Kurosawa was trying to seize the dominant power of public opinion. As long as Takumi showed his attitude, the Mystery Association would have nothing to say.'

'They couldn't frame Takumi, and Detective Conan could use this to increase its advertising.'

"Okay, but how can I prove that I'm the author?"

Takumi nodded.

"We have your account on our official website, and we'll give it to you right away." Kurosawa hung up the phone quickly after saying that. A text message arrived on Takumi's phone with the account and password.

Takumi returned to the booth, and Shiori and her sisters were already Browse on Twitter.

"#MysteryAssociation apologizes to DetectiveConan#". In just a few minutes, this message had been retweeted and had become the hottest topic. It seemed that more than one fan group had switched to Twitter.

Takumi, secretly surprised, logged into the official website when Shiori wasn't paying attention and sent a message.

"Thank you for your affection for Detective Conan, but the holy war has gone too far. I hope everyone can express their opinions more rationally, from Mirai-sensei."

It was a very short message, mainly because Shiori was right next to him and Takumi didn't want to be discovered.

After sending the message, Takumi immediately closed the official website and reopened it as a visitor.

Within a few seconds, several replies appeared below the message.

"The author has appeared on the couch!"

"Wow, Mirai-sensei Da Da!"

"In the front row, he's kneeling to lick Da Da's butt. Is he a real person?"

At the same time, Takumi and Shiori's chat started beeping.

"Sisters, something serious has happened! The author has appeared on the official website. Don't play the holy war. Pull up your pants and come see!"

"Really? Wait for me!"

"I want to go too!"

"Hinotori Publishing official website, Takumi, you..." Shiori suddenly shouted: "Is that you?"

"Ah!"

Takumi was scared to death. 'Had she discovered him?'

"Did you steal Mirai-sensei's couch?" Shiori asked, stunned, reaching out and pointing at Takumi's computer: "How can you be so fast?!"

Takumi turned around and discovered that the first place where the author had left a message was an anonymous visitor. So Shiori was talking about this: 'Don't scare people for no reason, okay?'

"No, it's not me."

He shook his head and quickly denied it. After sweating, he pressed the refresh button.

"Huh?" Takumi was stunned. '500 replies?'

No.

He refreshed again, 800 replies...

"Massacre!" Takumi almost gasped. 'Could it be that the power of the holy war had shifted to the official website? It's too fast!'

He watched carefully and saw familiar groups in the holy war, such as the support group, the personal guard, the heresy judgment team, the older sisters' alliance, etc. 'How do these fans communicate? It's too fast!'

Takumi had never seen such a strong online group in his previous life, which made him feel incredible. 'Could it be that he didn't know much about this world, or was the transmission of network information calculated in seconds?'

"Boom!"

Before Takumi could find the answer, a large red exclamation mark suddenly appeared on the computer screen. After a loud bang, the exclamation mark disappeared.

"What is this?"

Takumi thought the computer was broken, and just as he was about to look at the host, Shiori, next to him, grabbed his hat.

"Takumi, come out quickly."

She stood up, her voice somewhat nervous.

Takumi didn't understand what was happening: "What's wrong?"

"Just now it was a warning from this network." Shiori swallowed: "The police came to check, we don't care about the holy war, we must run immediately!"

She suddenly lifted her leg, Takumi only felt a gust of wind brushing past his ears, and then there was a "bang," and the metal door of the box behind him was kicked open.

He was completely rigid.
