Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: The Outspoken Elf Sea King

The existence of the historical fog is quite peculiar.

The history within the Evernight Goddess's secret town and the history outside are disconnected; the two historical fogs also do not intersect.

When Arrodes absorbed the grayish-white mist, which formed the historical rift projection, into its mirror world, this mist could not return normally. Under the power of the magic mirror, it began to re-condense, like a true Beyonder characteristic that had been shattered and then reassembled.

Xia Ai'er clapped, watching Arrodes's operation of "combining virtual and real" and "material reconstruction." As expected of Arrodes; it went for it, and it really worked.

This had a hint of 'Concealment', though only a little, and it also utilized the historical fog.

"You restored a Sequence 9 Beyonder characteristic?"

Xia Ai'er was very pleased. Although it was only the lowest-level Beyonder characteristic, its significance to him was immense.

"I... I'm not sure."

"I tried to reassemble a Bard characteristic based on my understanding of it, but I don't know if this counts as a success."

Arrodes was somewhat uncertain.

"Then let's try it."

Xia Ai'er was also unsure now whether Arrodes could only restore the characteristics of the five original families. All of this needed practical testing to get an answer.

He reached his hand into the mirror, wanting to retrieve the Bard characteristic within. However, as the Beyonder characteristic was about to leave Arrodes, it showed signs of collapse.

"It seems it's not that easy."

"Let's try a different method."

Xia Ai'er released his hand and stepped back a few paces. A virtual persona emerged and merged with the projection in the mirror.

The Xia Ai'er in the mirror consumed the Bard characteristic. "Just like sunlight piercing through the night, dawn quietly streaks across the sky."

The song contained an inspiring power.

Confirming that this characteristic was indeed useful, Xia Ai'er immediately muted himself. The good news was that although the limitations were significant, it wasn't entirely useless.

"Arrodes, don't you feel that all of this is incredibly marvelous or difficult to comprehend?"

Xia Ai'er asked in the mirror world.

His spirit could maintain synchronization across two eras through certain things on the gray fog, which even he found quite wondrous.

"Xia Ai'er, perhaps this is the power of a Pillar."

As a local mirror, Arrodes's reaction was much calmer than Xia Ai'er's.

"Is that so?"

Xia Ai'er nodded. He began to share Arrodes's search capabilities, looking for the Mystical Item he needed in the Spirit World.

"If destiny truly has gravity."

"I will definitely obtain Groselle's Travels. This Book of Concealment and the Quill of Alzuhod always want to meet."

"And the best way to find them is to obtain one of them."

"Whether it's from the past or the future."

While Xia Ai'er was full of confidence, he heard the Elf Queen's voice. Gao Xinaim called him over for a meeting.

"Whoever invented prayer really ought to be dragged out and shot."

Xia Ai'er checked the time. Wasn't this his private off-duty time?

"Work hard."

He left a task instruction for the projection in the mirror, then rode the wind to Blue Mountain Island, specifically the adjacent Xinaim Island.

The waves automatically parted, and the Door between the Spirit World and reality opened. Xia Ai'er stepped into the independent space created by the angel.

It was like the Water Curtain Cave, with elven decor inside. The palace walls were also adorned with murals depicting the Elf King's battle with the God of the Sun.

Xia Ai'er saw many female elves moving about on his way, which made him curious. Do the Kingdom of Deep Darkness and the Kingdom of Earth also have so many maidservants?

Does a Demonic Wolf with six innate arms need to be served?

"Queen, did you need me for something?"

Xia Ai'er looked up at the "Calamity Queen" seated on the throne and asked directly.

"Have you been a bit too lazy lately?"

Gao Xinaim stopped toying with her golden goblet and said.

"Me? Lazy?"

Xia Ai'er thought about how he had spent the past few days either listening to elven singers, fishing at sea, diving, barbecuing, sunbathing, paragliding, or teasing mermaids...

"I was digesting the potion."

"Do you know what digestion is?"

"I consumed two portions of a Sequence 3 Sea King characteristic."

Xia Ai'er would absolutely not admit he was slacking off. He was digesting the potion; he was being a Sea King.

The mermaids he kept could form a reinforced company.

Each one possessed a beauty no less than Audrey's, though their shark-like teeth were a bit sharp.

When they didn't open their mouths, they were still very pleasing to the eye.

"When do you plan to go out and gain experience?"

Gao Xinaim didn't press the issue. She glanced at Xia Ai'er and asked.

"What do you mean?"

Xia Ai'er felt somewhat absurd. No way, he had already transmigrated.

Moreover, he hadn't neglected his duties. The Central Sonia Sea had been well-managed by him, and he had even sheltered a group of sea creatures hunted by humans.

"You should go out and explore."

"Go and experience this new era."

"If you only stay here, you might become an angel, but that's as far as you'll go."

Gao Xinaim's tone revealed no emotion.

Xia Ai'er, however, felt a bit dazed. How was this different from 'go out and make a name for yourself in the big city,' or 'go out and see the world'?

I've transmigrated, and the Chinese template is still chasing me?

Are you my Mother?

Bang!

Xia Ai'er was sent flying backward by a bolt of lightning.

He wasn't injured, and the electrotherapy worked very well; the familiar déjà vu disappeared.

Xia Ai'er's daze was directly zapped away. His Mother wouldn't hit him.

"What were you just thinking?"

Gao Xinaim's tone was somewhat displeased. Xia Ai'er's gaze just now had made her feel offended.

"Nothing, I was just thinking of my Mother. Um, maybe not quite accurate, should I say grandmother?"

Zzzzt! Zzzzt!

Silver lightning snakes lunged at him again. This time, Xia Ai'er was prepared. He dodged nimbly and explained:

"Queen, please retract your divine power."

"I don't have that thought anymore."

"Not at all."

"Actually, I've almost forgotten when I was last hit."

"After I was 12, my parents never hit me again. Now that I think about it, this is indeed an effective way to communicate."

Gao Xinaim looked at Xia Ai'er's somewhat erratic demeanor. Her lips pressed together slightly, and she raised her hand helplessly. The lightning transformed into a chair, and the surrounding wind directly pressed him down into the chair, making him sit upright.

"I know what you're saying."

"Even if you didn't say it, I would go out and explore."

"But at least let me reach the angel Sequence first, okay?"

"If I'm not even an angel and I run around blindly, what if I die?"

After sitting in the chair, Xia Ai'er naturally leaned back, propping his head, and began to enumerate with his fingers.

The lightning-formed chair was insulated by the illusory scales on his body, causing no harm.

"Reach the angel Sequence first?"

"What do you think an angel is?"

"I am also just an angel, as you call it."

Gao Xinaim's chest rose and fell slightly. Even as calm as she was, she nearly lost control of her anger and almost strung Xia Ai'er up for a beating.

Does this look like a Sea King?
