Chapter 1 - ca$h grab

Oftentimes, you may walk into the store, look at the prices and wonder, "how on earth did the world come to this?" Well that's my exact fucking reaction, it's a shame not everyone has their rich prince charming to sweep you up in their arms and enjoy a nice dinner from a private house chef then go back to his penthouse which just happens to be across from his literal house. Ok, so what if I'm just casually daydreaming that at this point? My life is dog shit.

"God, why's everything so expensive? Guess I'll be eating cereal this month…and maybe even the month after that…after that one too…" "Excuse me, miss?" Bonnie was pulled out of her trance when a young man in a clean suit approached her. His shoes were crazy shiny as if he had replaced his shoe leather with a porcelain doll's face, and by the way his hair was slicked back you would've thought he had a meeting with the president. Despite his rich and cold demeanor Bonnie eyed him warily but then got back to her choice of bread, "Sorry I don't do those hookup thingies anymore, not since I got an STI that shit sucked too."

The young man was a little surprised at how bold and blunt Bonnie was, most would've been scared off but he carried on the conversation anyways. "Uhm, no Miss Pessie, my name is Daniel. I work as an assistant to the CEO of the brand company Acnego, I was requested to bring you to my boss." The way the man spoke was far from gentle or sweet, edging on Bonnie's suspicions. "Do you realize how stupid you sound right now? I work as a stripper, what's the chance you kidnap me for sex trafficking? And a CEO's assistant, as if that has anything to do with me." Feeling offended, Bonnie picked her basket off of the ground and began to walk away with a huff. "He's offering twenty-five thousand per month" The offer made Bonnie freeze, twenty-five hundred would've been enough. Maybe not to some people but just that would've had her hooked, however twenty-five thousand?! The thought was so crazy it made her pinch herself. "Who is this 'CEO' and what do they want with me?" For the first time the young rich man gave her a small smile, holding out a card for her to take. "Show up and you'll find out, trust me, you won't be disappointed."

"Yeah okay, we'll see about that." Bonnie took the card from the young man's hand and walked away to go pay for her groceries at the register. She didn't even glance back at the man, all she knew was that if she did show up she should be careful.

As Bonnie walked home the whole idea of what her future could be if she took this offer weighed on her mind, her decision quickly made her call her best friend Lilith. "Well, whoever this is, they clearly know you. Have you ever met someone that made a huge impression on you?"

"Not that I know of, I'm pretty sure I would've seen someone with a billion dollar company and not have forgotten. Though I'm also sure there were tons of billionaires I might've served, they probably just never told me about it." Bonnie sighed as she unlocked her apartment door, it was a small living space, but for her it was just enough to get by. "Maybe they were scared you'd try to invade their cash stash." Lilith giggled, adding on. "Just show up to his doorstep, Oh Mr. Smith! How could you get me pregnant, and not just leave me here, but also fail to inform me you had a wife!" Bonnie snorted, walking into her apartment. She had been standing at her door for a hot minute, while her friend was talking. She was zoned out, still curious about the strange man who had approached her earlier that day.

"Your ridiculous Lilith, that might just be the stunt I have to pull for this month's rent. Anyways, I'm home, l'll talk to you later. Bye Lilith, love you." Bonnie had her thumb right above the hang up button, Lilith sighed. "Kay, I was gonna tell you something interesting but I guess I'll have to save that for later. Keep me updated on your mystery boyfriend, love you Bunny!" Despite having her thumb over the hang up button Lilith was still faster, leading Bonnie to slip her phone back into her pocket.

The whole time Bonnie stood there, she didn't notice a bouquet of beautiful red roses, a bear, and a small box that looked like it held a huge diamond ring. Her first question wasn't who placed it there, but rather how it got there. "Oh great, so saying I just might show up immediately makes you think we're soulmates? Just who is this guy?"

Just as she sat there playing a game of twenty-one questions with herself, her phone buzzed, which was weird considering she has literally no life, no friends, and years ago had cut contact with her own family. Which also might mean three things, A, Lilith had her few minutes of cool off and was ready to start talking again. B, Her boss might've been scolding her, or calling her back to inform her that her long awaited week off of work was canceled. And lastly C, A Temu notification informing her that her package might be delivered soon. If you're questioning her purchasing sites, yes she does buy cheap things. So what? She's a baddie on a budget.

When she took her phone out and opened it, she was surprised to see a message from a random number. It read, "Is this Miss Bonnie? I hope you like the roses I left you, did you also enjoy the ring?"

Bonnie stared blankly at the message, then slowly typed back. "So you can break in and enter, send me gifts, but you won't meet me in person? Who the fuck are you and what do you want from me?" Bonnie placed her phone on the counter and huffed, bouncing her leg up and down as she waited for the response. "Hah, about all that I'd first like to inform you that your door was unlocked, so don't get all sassy. Second of all, meet me at the ChicCherry Pub and you'll see who I am, and of course I can inform you on the situation and we'll discuss your payment."

Bonnie rolled her eyes at the man's words. "Wow so you know where I work too? I'm pretty sure girls think a stalker man is unattractive, not sure who told you it was. And yes, maybe my door was unlocked, but it doesn't mean you should just welcome yourself. I have to go to the pub anyway tomorrow, your lucky your offering me hella money, otherwise you would've been blocked by now <3"

The heart she had placed next to her paragraph was different from what she normally messaged, it was unprofessional. But it made her feel confident, she liked that he knew she was ticked off.

Just as she was about to plop down on the couch her phone had buzzed with another message, she sighed as she picked back up her phone to read the message. "Okay, have fun sleeping, don't let the bed bugs bite. Sleep well Bunny."

The last word almost made her jump, how did he know her nickname? Only Lilith and a few of her closer friends called her that, but she dismissed that thought. She never would let a man get to her, not now, not ever, no matter the price they're willing to pay. To that thought she went to the bathroom to take a shower, afterwards as she laid in bed she couldn't stop thinking about the message and what was to come tomorrow. With all that happened in a few messages back and forth it led her to fall asleep with her phone in her hands, all she did that night was stare at her phone.
