Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

Drake Ares Callahan

A man every woman could dream of: a billionaire, intelligent, and most of all—handsome. But aside from this, he wasn't a fan of commitment. Not because someone hurt him in the past or anything, but because he found it ridiculous.

He used to believe in love, but as time went by, he began noticing all the negative effects it brought. As a businessman, he couldn't let those distractions affect him—that's how most businessmen think: avoid anything that could ruin focus.

That made him a womanizer who only loved sex. Nothing more, nothing less—just sex.

He didn't want affection; it made him cringe. But though he was like this, he had a very soft heart, especially toward the people he valued the most.

Third Person

"Ahh, ugh, fuck!" Drake kept pounding hard into Celeste Rivera's core—an investor in his company.

Celeste gripped tightly and buried her nails into Drake's shoulders as she felt the pleasure he was giving her. It was too big to enter her at first, but it felt so good.

"Drake... more, please," Celeste gently moaned with her eyes closed, getting fucked in a missionary position. Drake obeyed her demands and thrusted harder and faster.

He held onto Celeste's waist as he neared his climax. He leaned down to her and kissed her roughly.

The two were sweating as they continued pleasuring each other. Celeste moved her hands from his shoulders to cup his cheeks.

"You're so fucking tight, I want to wreck you already," Drake cursed, throwing his head back as he breathed heavily.

"No one's stopping you… Go on, ugh... fuck," Celeste arched her back as Drake hit her G-spot. A few more thrusts and he could come inside her.

After several more deep thrusts, Drake finally came together with Celeste. He released his seed inside her, then pulled out, pumping more cum at her lower abdomen.

He kissed Celeste's temple and laid down on the bed, feeling tired and drained after hours of sex.

"It's a yes for me… I'll sign in," Celeste said, satisfied with Drake's performance. She finally agreed to sign their contract. She sat up to clean the cum he had left inside her and on her abdomen.

"You gave me a memorable contract signing, Celeste," Drake exhaled and sat up with her, gently kissing her shoulder.

"You can call me whenever you're feeling it," Celeste said seductively, turning her head to kiss him.

"Sure," Drake replied, breaking the kiss and licking his lips to savor the taste left by Celeste.

Celeste went to the bathroom to clean herself. As for Drake, he stood from the bed, got dressed, and sat at the edge to put on his shoes. Celeste came out of the bathroom completely naked. Drake's gaze locked onto her body, finding himself admiring her again—more than before.

"Don't stare at me," Celeste said as she reached for her clothes behind him. But he suddenly pulled her waist and sat her on his lap.

"I can't take my eyes off you. You're turning me on again," Drake said, eyes roaming from her lips to her body.

"But I'm tired already. Let's do it some other time," Celeste pouted, then wrapped her arms around Drake's neck and kissed him passionately. He gripped her waist tightly and kissed her back.

"It's fine. I'll see you soon again. I gotta leave," Drake said, pecking her lips and gently sitting her on the bed. He grabbed his things and left the room.

Lyra Navarro

A simple woman from a lower-class family, wanting nothing but success so she could provide for them. Lyra was open-minded, loving, and conservative. She was willing to work day and night for their needs.

She may sound desperate and competitive, but she was a rational thinker and wise in her decisions—not your typical woman. And though she was practical and strong, if opportunity came in the form of someone taking her for granted, she might just grab it.

She had that "bitch attitude" toward people she hated—but she was soft once you earned her trust.

Lyra had never experienced "love" before. She believed it would come at the right time with the right person. Many had courted her, but she rejected all of them. For her, rushing love was ridiculous.

She was someone you'd want to keep once you truly knew her—a soft-hearted bunny with a kind soul.

But even if she was soft toward someone who made her vulnerable, when something was wrong—she would make it right. Even if it meant sacrificing her own happiness.

Third Person

"Sir, please don't do this! We have no other place to go… please let us stay for the meantime until we're finally able to pay our monthly dues!"

Lyra begged the landlord, who had already started putting all their belongings outside.

Her mother, Elena Navarro, and her little sister, Mira Navarro, tried to stop her. They knew it wouldn't work. Their debts were too high.

"Lyra-ah, come on. There's no use," her mom said gently.

"Mom! We don't have anywhere to go! What about you and Mira?!" Lyra yelled. She couldn't let this happen.

Her mother knew it was her fault. If she could walk, she could help provide. But ever since she became disabled, it was Lyra who carried the burden. Their father had left them to return to his "real" family.

"Sis… please, let's go," Mira begged, pulling on her sister's arm.

Lyra couldn't fight anymore. Her little sister's plea made her stop.

They grabbed their essentials and left the property. Lyra felt empty. Where could they go now? Her mother couldn't walk properly—it was just her and Mira helping her move.

"Fuck, where are we gonna stay?" Lyra panicked as the sky darkened.

"We're fine staying in the streets for now, Lyra. Just don't stress. We can overcome this," Elena said softly.

Even though they didn't have much, at least they had each other.

Suddenly, it started to rain. Lyra and Mira rushed to find some kind of shelter for their mom.

Lyra felt guilty. If she had just worked harder, maybe this wouldn't be happening.

She looked at their soaked belongings—including her important documents. She didn't know where or how to start again. No one could help them. Her mother was disabled. Mira was still studying.

She was the only one they could rely on.

Hours passed.

It was almost midnight and the rain hadn't stopped. They were cold. They didn't have thick jackets or coats.

Lyra heard her mother grit her teeth from the cold. It made her worry even more.

She rushed to her mother, even though her body was starting to freeze up too.

But little did Lyra know, her fallen angel would arrive.

Drake Ares Callahan.

Drake was driving around, looking for food, when the stoplight turned red. He spotted a little girl shaking from the cold outside a restaurant.

He knew that struggle. He had lived it before he became a billionaire.

He pulled over despite the rain, walked up to Mira, and checked her temperature. She was freezing. He noticed Elena too, struggling.

Without thinking twice, he carried Mira to his car, wrapped her in his coat, and went back for Elena.

Meanwhile, Lyra had gone to buy something to keep them warm. When she returned, she saw a man carrying her mother.

"HEY! THAT'S MY MOM! PUT HER DOWN!" she screamed and ran toward him.

She started hitting him without knowing who he was.

"MISS! I CAN'T LET YOUR MOM STAY HERE FREEZING! YOU'RE LUCKY I'M HELPING YOU!" Drake shouted back.

"WHO ARE YOU?! ARE YOU KIDNAPPING MY MOM AND MY SISTER?!"

Drake was beyond frustrated.

"FIRST OF ALL, I'M HELPING YOU! SECOND, I'M NOT A KIDNAPPER! WHY WOULD I KIDNAP PEOPLE I DON'T KNOW?!"

He placed Elena inside his car.

"I'M CALLING THE COPS!" Lyra screamed.

Drake slammed his car door, walked back to her, and snapped:

"I'm not a kidnapper! I'm Drake Ares Callahan. I'm a fucking billionaire! Get your ass in the car before I lose my patience."

He returned to the driver's seat, leaving Lyra speechless in the rain.

Drake rolled down the window.

"Are you really gonna stand there? Your mom and the girl are soaking wet. They'll catch a cold," he said and closed the window.

Is he really helping us? Lyra thought. He seems like a decent man.

If he hadn't come, my mom and sister could've been in danger. I have to repay this man.

She finally got in.

"Where do you guys live?" Drake asked.

Lyra hesitated. She didn't know what his intentions were.

"Answer me so I can bring you there," he added.

Still, she said nothing.

"Are you doubting I might do something? Please. In your dreams," he muttered.

"We don't have a home. You can drop us at the nearest street," Lyra finally said.

"WHAT?! NO. I'LL TAKE YOU WITH ME," Drake replied and drove them to his residence.

As he drove, Lyra couldn't help but feel thankful. Without him, they'd still be freezing outside.

She glanced at him. His side profile was perfect—pointed nose, soft lips, sharp jawline. He passed every standard she had for men.

Drake noticed her staring.

"If you're still doubting me, stop. I'm a good man. Very good," he smirked, eyes subtly checking her out.

Pervert, Lyra thought, but stayed quiet.

Neither of them knew this was the moment that would change their lives forever.
