Bone-crunching and flesh-mending sounds echoed in the old primal forest, accompanied by muffled pained groans coming from a vague creature kneeling amidst the greenery.
"It doesn't get any easier" said the figure, kneeling in the darkness.
The full moon could be seen in the sky, giving off its marvelous splendor as the chilly winds graced the night. Muffled sounds and squeaks rang softly from the frightened residents of the forest, the baleful terrifying aura radiating from the naked stranger eclipsing the fiercest predator within these woods.
The figure let out a low breath of relief and his eyes, once cloudy, began to shine with intelligence. He gazed up at the moon peeking lightly from the dense canopy of trees, momentarily taken by its ethereal splendour. He broke out of his trance with a sigh, raising himself up with visible exertion and the rough aged bark of a tree as support.
The figure slowly stood, his body flexing as he walked into the bathing glow of the moon, small dark globs dripping off his hands. Now illuminated by moonlight, his raw pale skin marked with flecks of wet dripping blood seemed to regain a touch of blush to its tone. Blood coated his lips and neck, a trickle slowly making its way down his chest. His cheeks moved and his lips lightly parted to spit out a piece of flesh.
Faintly revealed behind him lay the decapitated body of a large animal, closely resembling a deer, lying in a pool of blood. The animal's entrails lay bare to the chill, blood spurting softly from its innards and what remained of its organs ripped to shreds.
Craning his neck, the figure turned his head, his eyes glowing a bright yellow, seemingly spotting something in the night, far off into the distance.
"Better get going then, I don't want to deal with those troublesome bunch." He mumbled. "I have to prepare for tomorrow anyway, school's about to start".
His eyelid twitched slightly in mention of school before returning to normal. Casting a brief glance at the mutilated deer, he turned once more to gaze back into the distance, his glowing yellow eyes giving off a strange glint. With one last glance at the full moon, he walked off into the dark embrace of the forest. His dark form enlarged with every step and within too short a moment he was out of sight.
Nearly half an hour later, a small group of people cautiously approached the spot. Dressed in black leather armor - with the torso, shoulder, and forearm areas further reinforced with silver metal plating - and their heads shielded by futuristic armored helmets with their faces hidden behind a think tinted glass, they looked out of place in the ancient forest.
Armed with guns, daggers and swords strapped to their waists, they drew closer to the area, drawn by the thick scent of blood. They stopped just short of the creature laying in the darkness.
One of them stealthily inched forward, close enough for his boots to dig into the blood-coated earth.
"Ugh! It looks like a deer, its insides look nearly torn to shreds." A mechanical voice echoed from his helmet.
A large man inched closer to the deer carcass, his gait confident. Unlike the others a large machete clung to his back and he happened to be the leader of this particular squad.
"Be alert and stay in formation! It could still be around" The large man yelled. He made to grasp his machete while his eyes did a quick sweep of the area. Sensing nothing, he moved towards the mutilated deer. Lowering to a squat, he dipped his fingers into the pool of blood and slowly caressed his fingers.
" The blood's still relatively fresh, less than an hour". The man said.
" It's definitely one of those dogs" His second in command said as he approached the body. His hand swiped across his ear and his helmet hissed as the glass shifted to reveal his face. "Could it be the same ones that took out the D78- Squad Sir?".
" Likely but I doubt it, this is the work of an omega, the D78-Squad was assaulted by a pack according to their last transmission" The leader said as he gazed in a certain direction, coincidentally the same one the lone beast ran off to.
"Should we give chase sir?" The Co-Captain asked, his eyes mirroring his leader's gaze.
" Hmmm leave it be, there are multiple squads that need backup at the moment we can't spare the manpower to chase a rogue beast" The leader said as he slowly stood up.
" Alright Let's move out, the other D-rank squads aren't that far from here" The Co-Captain hollered.
The leader slowly tore his gaze off the shadowy path and rejoined the squad, a silver tag gleamed off his right shoulder displaying a large 'C' showing him off as the leader of a C-rank team, precisely a C rank - Unit.

* Nevada High*
Nevada High was teeming with numerous teenagers eager and excited to reunite after the holidays and the curfew. The entire school was drowned in various noises and shouts from all directions, with different students showing off their skateboarding skills, jocks hanging out by their cool cars, the nerds discussing the latest anime and, the center of attraction, the different squads of beautiful ladies.
A deep rumble tore through the cacophony of noises, slowly getting louder as a shiny black motorbike came into view and pulled up into the parking lot. Alighting from the bike was a slightly taller than average teenager sporting an undercut, donning a leather black jacket on a white shirt with black jeans.
His feet shielded by sleek shoes, adorning his wrist was a silver-black watch, and a dark-red ring with an imprint of the head of a wolf on his right ring finger.
Straightening his jacket, he slowly took off his shades to reveal his lucid hazel eyes. Lightly pinching his scrunched brows, his eyes took in his surroundings with a baleful look not unlike a prison inmate.
"What a pain." He scoffed to himself. Tearing his gaze, he turned and grasped his backpack.
Swinging it onto his shoulder, he slowly walked towards the school entrance with nearly the entire school gawking at the handsome figure of Daniel Wayne.
