But, on the wall, there were still men manning rocket launchers.
The rocket launchers fired, but failed to hit the high-speed advancing truck, which ultimately exploded upon crashing into the barricade blocking the west gate.
Behind the gate was a hardened ground, and as the original location around the gate wouldn't have been strong, the west gate was blocked up later with various objects, but there was only a single layer of barricade at the gate.
The explosion was massive, sandbags, rocks, and the stacked wall were all damaged in the blast, allowing infantry to climb through the gap created in the west gate into the prison, which was not possible before as they couldn't breach the prison at all.
