Xiang Nan stood at the school gate dragging his suitcase, his face turning sour as he looked at the small and dilapidated university before him.
Passing students cast curious glances his way. Xiang Nan proudly lifted his chin ever so slightly, but inside, he was nearly dying of regret. He couldn't fathom what had possessed him to actually come to such a god-forsaken place.
The sky had darkened, peppered with a few bright stars. The stream of students at Su City University had thinned, and the 'First Sight' café's neon sign flickered in the distance, occasionally illuminating couples whispering sweet nothings to each other.
Xiang Nan snorted, exuding a single's resentment, feeling inexplicably irritable.
"Why hasn't he come yet?"
He glanced at the time again, his face etched with impatience.
"Are you Xiang Nan, senior?"
