Act I: Minun's Comet
Somewhere in Jua village…
"Mama, mama, look!" Jua Pendo, Mwana's little sister, ran around the compound with excitement as she looked up at the night sky.
"Be careful, don't hurt yourself." Sana Jua had also come out of the house to see the wonder in the sky.
There was a bright flash of light and then from behind the Black Dragon Mountains, a light emerged. It was a shooting star, or maybe a comet. As the comet streaked across the ocean of stars, there seemed as to be a giant transparent sea horse reaching out to grasp it. There was a gentle twinkle like a fire light before the comet disappeared across the horizon.
Minun's Comet.
"Mama, when will big brother come back?"
"Soon, soon. The milk is still clear." While looking in the direction of Milele town, Sana Jua took little Pendo into her arms and went back into the house. The mother and daughter missed Mwana greatly; this was the first time he had been away from home for so long.
