Vampire Wolf Hybrid
Five years later Vlad had grown into a mature adolescent and he had eventually come around to trust Ateara and Seth to tell them his background.
Vlad's father was a vampire and his mother was a wolf shifter. His parents fought in the great battle but lost their lives. Vlad realised he'd become an orphan two days after when only a few came back to the village. Though he wasn't placed in a home, as it was only a small village, someone did look after him, until they realised what he was. However, he still managed to somehow survive on his own for a few days, before meeting Ateara and Seth who took him in. After he drank from and killed a human, they taught him how to fight the thirst for human blood. They showed him another way to quench the thirst, by drinking the blood of animals.
"Really? How do you know this Ateara?" Vlad asked, curiously.
"Well I have a family I haven't seen in a long time. They are all vampires and they have adapted to drinking the blood from animals for a long time," Ateara explained.
"I really want to meet your family," Seth admitted.
"They sound like a really nice family, I'd like to meet them too," Vlad agreed.
"I do miss them… Ok, in the morning, let's head home to my family. Let's get some rest and we can start early," Ateara agreed, "First, there is something you need to know, it can get a little wild because my father is a wolf shifter and my mother is a vampire/human hybrid. She was born, not created. I share a gift with my Gran," Ateara explained.
"Oh wow that sounds really awesome. Now I really cannot wait to meet them all" Seth said, Vlad nodded agreeingly.

The next morning, Ateara was the first to wake up. After such a long time, he was excited to see his family again but he was also nervous about whether or not they would approve of Seth and their adopted son Vlad. So many scenarios were flooding his head. He tried to hide his expressions when he noticed Seth approaching, but it was too late, Seth had already noticed. He walked behind Ateara and held him tight. Ateara felt a sense of comfort and leant his head back onto Seth's chest. Seth felt Ateara relax slightly and kissed his cheek.
"I walked in at the wrong moment. I was just going to ask, are we going soon?" Vlad mumbled and sleepily walked up to them, breaking their moment.
"Hey Vlad, good morning. Did you sleep well?" Ateara asked, pulling himself up and out of Seth's grasp.
"Morning, yeah I did, can we go now?" Vlad asked.
"Yeah we're ready to go whenever you're ready" Ateara told him.
"Ateara just needed a little comforting after not seeing his family for awhile, he felt a little overwhelmed" Seth explained.
"Seth, I'm ok now. Vlad I will be alright. Let's roll," Ateara ordered.
With a long journey ahead of them, they packed up the rest of their stuff and left. Vlad could not wait to see what was in store for him. He had always wanted an amazing adventure.
The three of them walked harmoniously with Seth holding Ateara's hand and occasionally stealing a kiss. As they walked, Seth could tell something was weighing on his lover's mind.
"What's wrong Ateara? Are you still worried about Medea? She has been put down and locked up. No one is getting in and she is most definitely not going to get out," Seth reassured him.
Ateara looked into Seth's eyes for a moment before glancing away.
"I know, but I can't help but worry. I'll be back to my old self soon, I think I just need to absorb everything that has happened recently," Ateara explained.
"Ok Ateara, I'm here if you need me. I cannot stand seeing you like this. And I don't want to worry Vlad if he notices you this way," Seth replied.
"Ok Seth, I will and thank you." Ateara asked suspiciously.
"Good because I was hoping to do something fun very soon," Seth winked.
"I like to do fun things. Can I do fun things too," Vlad laughed happily.
"Really Vlad?" Ateara asked, jumping slightly. "What sort of fun things do you like to do?" Ateara asked.
"Oh, I love to run and jump. I like it when I jump from a rock into water. It's the most fun thing in the world," Vlad answered.
"You'll like it with my family then, Vlad. There's never a dull moment, they do lots of fun things like that," Ateara explained, smiling happily.
They made steady progress throughout the day. Vlad's spirit never lost its excitement no matter how far they walked. When the light started to fade Ateara stopped the group.
"It's getting late now, there is a cliffside nearby. Let's rest for the night, then we can check it out and relax."
"That sounds like a great idea," Seth mused, raising an eyebrow.
"Sounds like fun" Vlad sounded excited.
