It's been about a week since the incident and they weren't sure how best to explain to the others.
"This thing! You felt it too right?" Leah asked Embry, who was clearly still in some sort of shock. He soon answered her.
"Yeah I felt it too, but it definitely came from your eyes. Typically female wolf-shifters don't have that kind of gift," Embry explained.
"No! This has had to come from your eyes, as I am the first female wolf shifter," Leah told him.
"I know that, but that's probably why you have been given that power. Let's see what Sam and Jacob have to say about this. They will know better," Embry suggested.
"They would either agree with you or say we need to speak to BIlly," Leah predicted.
"Yeah you're right, it's most likely the latter," Embry agreed.
They walked in silence to find Jacob and Sam, but it didn't take long as they were heading towards them anyway.
"Leah, Embry, just the two people we have been looking for," Jacob greeted, Sam just gave them a strange look.
"What is it Sam?" Jacob asked, noticing his expression.
"Why are the two of you together? What happened?" Sam asked. Leah and Embry looked at one another and shrugged, but neither were fooling either Sam or Jacob.
"You imprinted?" Jacob called them out, looking at Leah. "Is this possible Sam," Jacob asked, turning to Sam.
"In all my time when I was an alpha, I've never heard of it, but our tribe's changing all the time," Sam tried to explain.
"Yeah I think my dad will agree to that as well," Jacob agreed and continued inside the house. "Hi dad".
"Hi Jacob. Sam, Embry and Leah, what brings you all here?" Billy asked, looking mainly at Embry and Leah. The thing you need to know about Billy is that although he may not be a shifter, he has experience and has an amazing ability to read people's body language.
He looked at them in a way that made them feel uneasy, as if he knew something about themselves that they didn't or couldn't know. They looked at each other first before Embry caved as he so easily does.
"Billy, so … yes I probably did imprint on Leah but could it be possible for her to imprint on me as well?" Embry asked quickly.
"Well that I am not entirely sure about, but it could be possible seeing we haven't had a female shifter before. You know as well as I, the world is forever changing," Billy wisely told them.
"I don't suppose we could undo this?" Leah asked, though she knew the answer already and missing the flinch and hurt look from Embry.
"Leah! You know imprinting cannot be undone. It's a connection that's always been inside you both, if the wolf detects it, it will latch on and never let it go," Billy told them, "And because you're the first female shifter, you could have been the one to have imprinted, Embry may have just reciprocated," Billy added.
"That's right!" Sam nodded, "I shouldn't have to explain this. But this is a new era of shifters. Why Jacob imprinted on renesmee, why Seth and Vlad, now you and Embry. Times have changed."
"Not forgetting Ateara and Seth who is a half witch," Quil added, making everyone jump. No one had noticed him following and eavesdropping. Everyone stared at him like he said a bad thing, "you all know what happened after they came here, Seth's sister witch almost decimated us and…"
"And nothing Quil. She's been dealt with and we all survived. Seth is with Ateara and therefore is part of our tribe. He is afterall half wolf shifter as well," Jacob explained. "Same goes for Vlad, yes we are aware he's a Vampire wolf hybrid but he is still a wolf shifter and Seth Clearwater has imprinted on him so therefore part of our tribe," Chief Jake finished. Sam gave a subtle smile and a nod. His expression soon changed.
