Chapter 296 - No Entrance

As the truck sped down the dirt road toward the city, Jayce sat in the back, paying attention to his surroundings.

'I didn't understand a word they said,' He thought as he listened to the group inside the truck. 'Well, I guess that isn't true.'

He had picked up his name, which had been brought up a few times, and from the angry tones that followed them, they weren't saying the nicest of things.

'That's to be expected.'

Jayce wasn't under the illusion that Amaya was fond of him, and by extension, her friends shouldn't be either. Although he did find it strange when Amaya started dry heaving but when the rest of the group didn't seem to make much of it, he ignored it.

Peeking around the side, he looked toward the front of the car. The lights from the city seemed to pierce the dark, cloudy skies. 

'I wonder how they're planning to ditch me.'
