I stare at her name on the screen, the little gray "delivered" check mark taunting me like a final verdict.
She's not answering.
And I can't blame her.
I hurt her again.
I saw it in her face at the hostel. That pause in her eyes, the pullback in her voice. It was small, but it was enough. Enough to know I'd pushed too hard. Spoken too carelessly. Let my temper take the wheel.
When I saw her dancing with Jake at the club… God. Something inside me snapped. It wasn't just jealousy. It was fury. Cold and hot at the same time, like lava under frost.
I couldn't think. I didn't want to think. I just wanted to tear the moment apart with my hands. I wanted it gone.
And so I lashed out.
Not at Jake. Not really.
At her.
Because watching her smile at someone else when I still hadn't figured out how to stop loving her—it made everything unravel.
And yeah. That was on me.
