After hearing Divine's words about his incompetence as a leader and master, Corey pondered on his words.
He knew that what Divine said was true. He had not tutored or nurtured Selene or Kiefer in any way possible.
Especially Kiefer who has an extremely high talent. He had personally recruited Kiefer because of his status as a Blessed and his unique body, soul, and talent.
However, despite all of this, he had ignored them and focused wholly on himself.
If he wanted, he could have made excuses and gave reasons as to why he did all of this. However, he chose not to, because he knew they were just excuses and lies he would be telling himself.
He had ignored them because he had never felt like he needed them for anything.
Even in the Shattered Dimension of the Old Ones, Selene died and he barely mourned for her death. He never even spoke to her about her death or apologized for not being able to protect her as her master because he did not truly care.
