Felix stood to his feet and the beam dimmed away eventually after the five seconds, Felix heart was pacing faster than usual and then he looked at the creature that had bubbles coming from it's mouth. Felix question what the beam was as his thoughts were scattering all over his head, he felt a threat waving from the creature and Felix found the feeling very unpleasant. He went over to his equipments and took up something that looked like a remote, he then slowly entered a password as the beeping dial followed each time he clicked. As Felix was finished clicking a bright light and buzzing sound followed from the tube. The light was so bright Felix could hardly see the creature that was shaking in the tube. The volts were so high that while electrocuting the creature the tube shattered and the creature slipped out with the liquid that also spilt out pooling around the creature during the shock. Felix pushed the electrocution volts passed it's limits as the lights started to flicker, even though the creature was laying in the liquid that was used to preserved him he was still being electrocuted. A minute passed and the electrocuting stopped and Felix watched the lifeless creature who laid there. Felix exited from his underground laboratory and sealed the doors shut and then he went back to the surface as he tried to gather his scattered thoughts.
Two days passed since the beam that struck through the sky and nothing unusual had happen since then. Night eventually fell as it would start a new day, but the next day the sun didn't rise, people woke up by themselves without the use of their alarms or the assist robots they had. Nothing was working as they hurried around fearing they would be late for work. They rushed to the bus stops that were crowded than usual, some possessed their own vehicles, that the could use whenever, but it wouldn't start. All power was gone, the world was in darkness and only luminated dully by an unknown source. Everyone was confused, scientist tried to rule out a solution but without electricity there machines couldn't operate, neither could they contact the workers in space, everything that used electricity was now meaningless. People who were on life support machines in the hospitals or homes no longer had it's help as some of them slowly met there end. Some of their hovering mechanisms came crashing down as there was no power to keep them levitated. The world was thrown into chaos and panic while others stood still, waiting.
Then as if the sky was splitting a light beamed through the spaces that was created. Everyone stared up at the phenomenal event that displayed before their eyes and within minutes the sky started lowering as some people felt the density of the hostility that came from above and tried to escape and others was videoing and admiring the scene.
" Mommy I want to go home" a young child whimpered as he squeezed his mother's hand and buried his face in her tummy.
The sky descended and as it came into clear view everyone who could see saw a spaceship and with it, it started to rain the mystical spherical balls that crashed into the cities. The creatures started crawling out and gashing at everything that moved in sight. The balls rained on people and buildings destroying everything. Everyone was scattered amongst themselves and sought shelter as they screamed in terror. With everything happening some people was triggered and transformed into their robotic form's. Screams and the crashing of homes, buildings, skyscrapers, roads and bridges were the only sounds that could be heard echoing around every corner as the creature's invaded mindlessly snapping their jaws at everyone and everything. Worldwide everyone was dealing with the greatest threat of the aliens invasion . There appearance interrupted the signals which made communication difficult, every country was on the defensive side of the coin and couldn't make contact with those outside nor could they push forward an extra step to oppose the enemy. They could only hide, retreating to the shadows, taking off the crown that held them predator among predators. Now they had to hide in the corners like the prey they now were, watching as a new specie dominated and ascended taking the thrown.
Felix was in his room when one of the spherical balls crashed into his base and a spaceship followed in tail. When Felix heard the crash he hurried to the scene wanting to know the situation but upon arriving he saw his soldiers shooting there guns and barking orders.
"Was the beam a signal?" he asked himself and took a few steps back, wondering if he was the cause of everything.
There were loose signals that swam about and Felix managed to pick up on some of it as his device received a message in code purple saying everywhere was under attack. The soldiers tried holding the creatures back as Felix made way to the twelve in haste. When he reached he briefly informed them of the situation in one go not stopping to take a breather.
"What! How are we going to beat an army of them when we could barely defeat two of them", Markin questioned in a loud voice.
"He's right, this isn't over fight" Will added.
"Like what should we do", Oliver asked. Felix stood there quietly and listened to their outburst and conversations as he felt the guilt, being the one who probably caused everyone to be in the current situation.
"It's okay, you don't need to do anything", Felix muttered in a low voice and everyone managed to hear him over their own words and went quiet, as they never expected such a dull expression from him.
"You can all leave", he continued again. They went silent trying to find the words to speak, but failed to do so, but as usual Leo was the first to open his mouth.
"Don't worry Felix I'm going nowhere, none of us are", Leo said as he looked at Markin who avoided his gaze. "We're the twelve and we're the heroes, right guys?" they gave an affirmative nod. Over the past months they had gotten closer and was maybe close enough to be called a family, even though Felix kept them there, they were treated more like humans over time instead of test subjects and weapons.
"Just know if I die I want my grave paved in gold" Markin spoke with a determined tone.
"What about your families?" Felix asked.
"We trust your looking after them", Marie answered. "Now less standing around we have things to do"
They ran out and headed to the city while two of them stayed behind to help the situation at Felix's base. There were only six of the creatures that was causing damage and taking the lives of the soldiers that were trying to hold it back. Mellie and Oliver stayed at the base while the others went to the city. Unlike Mellie who didn't possess a special ability Oliver could create shields. The creatures were on par with them but with the training that they have been given they could hold their own against them and the creatures were also smaller than the one's they fought months ago.
Jo was the only one who had the ability to fly and so held the others and flew them to the city, as he passed through the city they jumped from the sky and transformed midair, as they landed the ground shook and the tremors could be felt. As they landed they immediately joined the fight as the city was being overrun by the creatures, when the twelve joined in on the fight everyone who saw them was inspired to give whatever little support they could submit. Instead of running like cowards they decided to transform and give a helping hand in the fight. The entire world was nothing but a battle ground as everyone tried to fight against the creatures, but they arrived without notice and even with all the satellites and space recording records they held non registered such a tremendous threat. A spaceship of such size should have been easily detected, but for unknown reasons it wasn't registered, maybe there technology was much inferior to the new beings. They weren't prepare for such drastic conflicts and so their chances of winning seemed slim to none. The creatures were super strong, agile, and had quick regeneration and their hard skin made it hard to impale them. Everyone was fighting consistently and back at Felix's base it was just as hard, Felix tried to open all the highly classified weapons and equipments that he was working on and handed it to the soldiers, but with the disturbance of the electricity that affected all electrical materials opening the safes was a difficult matter.
As Felix was in the open trying to unlock the safes he felt death towering over him. He asked himself what fear was lurking behind him, but he had an answer long before the question. He was frozen feeling his heartbeat quicken as he slowly turned his head. The gigantic creature screeched and swung at him batting him so hard he broke through the walls and was sent flying. Luckily Oliver saw what was about to happen before it did and was quick enough to react creating a shield around Felix. Oliver took his eyes away from his opponent for only a second and was slammed against the wall, the impact was hard but he managed to kick the creature away and created distance. In the city a green ball was seen flying overhead as it made its way before crashing somewhere. The landing of the ball Felix was in created a hole upon impact as it touched ground. The crashing of the ball made Felix broke his arm. Emille was the closest to the spherical green looking ball and it appeared to be made by Oliver as she doubt anyone had the ability to use there power so well, as she went closer she managed to contact Oliver and asked if he was responsible for the green spherical ball that just landed and Oliver confirmed that it might be his and if it was Felix was in it. After receiving the information Emillie quickly contacted Leo and informed him. Emillie knew that Felix staying here would only result to him dying, the spherical shield that Felix was in was being weaken as it started to get dull and shrunk in size. Emillie knew that it was the result of Oliver being weaken or possibly dying. But before she could think further she was attacked and Felix was left unattended, the hit that he got had shaken him as he felt slightly dizzy and his broken arm didn't make it any easier.
"There's no escaping this", Felix said to himself in a heavy breath and slowly tried to get away from the fight as the shield dispersed from around him.
When Leo heard about Felix he started making his way in a haste towards him and tried his best as possible to avoid fighting the creatures so they wouldn't get in his way which would allow him to reach Felix faster. Over time Leo had gotten closer to Felix and cared about him, he took Felix as someone important to him. Felix was distant to them and saw a scientist subject relationship between them, but Leo always did everything to lighten the mood and mocked Felix. Felix found him annoying but Leo liked making him triggered and miserable. Even though Felix knew he probably wouldn't make it he still attempted moving slowly dragging his body in pain to escape the fights that were happening near him, as he made his way fear gripped his throat from behind, stopping his breath. He stood in place frozen knowing he would be joining his father soon. Felix sighed and then lighted chucked to himself, the creature made a hallow crackling sound before stabbing Felix right through the chest. Leo had a view of what just happened and as he felt anger he charged faster as he screamed Felix's name, when Leo was within reached he punched the creature in the head with a blow heavy enough that detached it's head from its body. It's head swung across overhead raining it's blood before landing. Sadness waved over Leo as he detransformed so he could hold Felix properly. Felix's chest was gutted out and he was bleeding all over.
"Why does everyone I care about keep dying", Leo asked as his voiced tighten. Tears streamed down his face as his voice started quivering. "You can't die", Leo spoke as he held Felix body.
"I thought the only expression you had was happiness" Felix managed to speak in a low breaking voice stifling a chuckle while coughing up blood and made eye contact. With all the energy Felix could muster he held his bloody hand to Leo's cheek and spoke.
"For we all will go and when we do look-" Felix said with his voice breaking away as he tried to recite some words his mother told him. "Look at the-", but before he could finish speaking his final breath was blown out as his hand fell from Leo's cheek creating a line of blood. Leo was devastated, he screamed Felix's name as if he was trying to wake him from a deep sleep, but the sleep Felix was having was eternal. The sounds in the background drowned out as Leo knelt there holding Felix's body before closing his eyes, feeling a familiar feeling suffocating his heart. Emillie handled the problem she was having and made her way over to Leo detransforming even though it was dangerous. She tried to talk to him but her words fell on deaf ears, he was now in a world where nothing could be heard.
"He's dead isn't he?" Leo muttered in question with an almost lifeless tone, he still questioned despite the evidence in front of him. "For everything that I found joy in always vanishes". "You know when I'm sad, I relief myself by destroying something" Leo kept talking to himself before Emillie shaking him and tried to get him to snap out of his devastated complex. Leo then released Felix's body and looked to the sky as he stood up. "For everything that brings me unhappiness should be destroyed".
