Dark Pov
After leaving the room with the scientists in Johnson and the marines bring me back to the common room where my team is waiting I open the door and walk in to see them all waiting " captain your back" the others look at the entrance after Alice spoke I let the door close before speaking " yea just the usually checks they said everything is ok" while saying that I quietly ask Destiny to check the room for any devices that can spy on our conversation [ I have located quite a few spy devices and I have took the liberty to disable them all] after hearing that I sigh before speaking " it looks like command are getting worried about my power getting stronger and me turning against the UNSC" the four of them look at me in absolute shock "but you would never do that is it because you saved us when we were pulled into slipspace" I look at Jess and shrug " not sure why but I get a feeling that they might not want me to remain active" the others just stand in silence processing my words before Victor finally speaks " what we going to do than" I look at Victor not expecting him to say we than at the others who seem to nod in agreement " are you guys sure it means going against the UNSC" they just shrug " we never cared for them anyway we only follow their orders because of you" this comment by Jess was surprising but when I think about it they never acted unless I gave the order even if Command went to them directly " since that's your decision than I appreciate it even if I am unable to express it I mean those words" after saying that I formulate a plan in my head since my team wants to stand with me than I will make dam sure that nothing can take them down.
I spent the next hour explaining the system to them and my ability to create a bond with them granting them a similar system to help them grow stronger at the mention of being bonded with me Alice was delighted the others looked at me with complicated gazes until I explained that it only involves me infusing my energy and Dark Matter into the via skin contact which put them at ease but made Alice pout complaining that she would have preferred a different method. It too 5 hours to create a bond with all of them due to my limited energy and Dark Matter and as Destiny said each of them received a system of their own to see their stats and allow them to gather Divine Points to get new skills from their ability skill tree not only that it turns out by bonding with them I unlocked a new function of my system the Faction function this allow me to see all those who I am bonded with as well as their current stats and their condition it also allows for sending messages to those I am bonded with.
After all we decided to have something to eat as I was eating in my personal room[ we have a problem my access to the UNSC Database is being slowly revoked] hearing this I was not surprised but it was faster than I thought "that's fast it's unfortunate I have no storage device for you to copy files to" I say not expecting a response[ there's no need for that the system itself has its own database I can store any data I copy to that] with her response I am shocked that means she could copy the UNSC Database and store it in the system " can you copy everything without being detected" I ask thinking that if I had that data I would not have to gather intel from scratch [ if it was before than no but after the system upgraded me I can not only copy the data from what I still have access to without being detected but I am able to get everything in the database the only issue is time but luckily that's to the ship being pulled into slipspace by the covenant ship the engines were slightly damaged with this I should be able to get everything thing] after she finishes I quickly make a decision " do it also can you leave a backdoor into the database" I am only asking just incase since it would all me to monitor what the UNSC are planning [ I can but will take even more time but I should be able to do it however I will not be able to talk to you till I am done to avoid distractions] I just shrug at her comment I knew thanks to the upgrade from the system she is far more advanced than any AI invented by humans not sure how she would compare to a forerunner AI but at least she's on my side.
After having that talk I spend the rest of the time till arrival with my team talking about what we are going to do after we are free to do as we please as we are talking Destiny interrupts us [ I have copied all the data everything is stored in the system database also Command sent your orders and it's a solo mission your to head to the rings command centre and find the key but they left out what hostiles you will face meaning they plan for you to die in action] I was expecting this not only that the data about sentinels is in the section of the UNSC Database that Destiny had her access revoked for so i am unable to get intel on what i would face the others also heared what Destiny said through my armours communication device the looks they had on their faces could only be described as pure hatred but I knew I had to ask when I depart so I did[ you depart in an hour's time and the rest of your team are to follow Master Chief in 2 hours] I get up just as the door opens and Johnson enters I look at him" i have been sent to take you to your drop pod i am sure you have been told your mission" i just nod at him and walk to the exit before leaving i stop amd look at my team "make sure to stay alive" with that I turn and leave with Johnson to get ready for my mission.
A/N that's it for this segment this one was abit difficult since I had two options here one keep the main character going along with the plot of Halo 2 or branch out and show separate events and i have also been debating wether i have a patreon exclusive chapter that goes over the meeting at command that decides to through Dark to the wolves but not sure yet you will know because i will inform you if i decide to anyway thank you for reading hope you enjoyed this chapter.
