"That's a dryad but I thought you could only find them in places steeped in nature or places with elves." Exclaimed quietly one of the two boys who accompanied Ren.His name was Kye and he wielded a bow with some arrows.He was a 18 year old youth with brown hair and green eyes.
"That's only true for the high level dryads,you can find low level dryads in regular woods." whispered the other boy who accompanied Ren.This youths name was Edward and he wielded a spear.He was a nineteen year old man with dark hair and dark eyes.
The one girl who accompanied Ren remained silent as she continued to observe the dryad.Her name was Sophia and she had auburn hair and green eyes.She was 18 years old and wielded a staff.
Ren was stuck in thought.What little he knew of dryads circulated in his mind.He knew that they were shy creatures that lived in nature but that was it.He realised that if it did have a shy personality then there was a possibility of it running away on first contact.He was confident he could catch it though as he felt no sense of danger from the entity.His breathing was relaxed and normal.This was a foe that he could face.
Ren resolutely walked out of cover and closed in on the dryad.The dryad appeared to have noticed him closing in and stopped her singing.Contrary to expectation however she didn't run away.Quite the opposite,she pointed at Ren and gave out an unearthly screech.
The animals which appeared to be in an entranced state began to let out unnatural sounds.They all turned towards Ren and charged or flew towards him with animalistic bloodlust.They were all looking to tear Ren to shreds.
Observing this small battalion of nature Ren sprung into action.He wielded his dagger and calmly prepared his stance.Once the first animal which was a wolf got close enough Ren began to move.
The wolf which had been looking at Ren unmoving the whole time suddenly found its throat slit.It was the first to die but nowhere near the last as foxes,wolves,deer found their throats slit.Smaller animals such as badgers,squirrels,birds were either sliced in half or slashed to pieces.
Ren was a cyclone of slashes and dancing footwork as he entered the group of animals and exited the back of the group in less then a second with all the animals dead.Most of the corpses didn't even have time to fall when Ren was behind the dead group and eyeing his next prey.
Before he moved onto the dryad however Ren heard the sound of smoke.He looked back and saw that the corpses of the dead animals dissipated into smoke and loot appeared in their places.The loot that dropped appeared to be meat and bones as well as some mediocre weapons.
"So that's what happens when a creature,entity or human dies in this world.No wonder there's no cemeterys." Wondered Ren.
Ren then turned back towards the dryad when he felt a sense of danger.His view was blocked by a verdant green light.Ren immediately curved his body backwards as a large orb of green mana flew over him.
"Slow" concluded Ren in his mind.An organisms speed in emiting mana usually depended on the organisms own speed and perception aside from some unique situations.The dryads physical abilities were quite a bit lower then his.He didn't even have to reinforce his body with mana.
The dryad also seemed to note this as she had a worried expression on her face.This rapidly morphed into a resolute expression.
Now that Ren was looking closely at the dryad he had to say that she was quite a beauty.The dryad possessed green eyes and leaves in her hair giving her a wild,untamed look.With her slender yet curvaceous body most men would immediately stop to observe and appreciate nature's delights.
Ren immediately focused and saw that the dryad was growing bark out of her skin.This bark continued to expand outwards until it created a 2.5 metre suit of wood and bark with large clubs for hands.The dryads head and neck was bare.
"Is that a spell or natural ability?.I wonder if it will drop." Ren curiously asked in his head as an arrow flew past his head and buried itself into the dryads left eye.Ren knew who it was so he didn't bother turning around.
"I WANT SOME OF THE LOOT TOO ARCHIE." Kye yelled excitedly as he had seen the strengh of the mob and was encouraged to give the battle a try himself.A strong and unique mob like a dryad had to give some good loot.It definitely had to be better then the starter gear they were all given.
The other two also stepped forward as they wanted good loot.
"Fine but don't hinder me." Ren didn't yet know how loot dropping worked so he decided not to ruin his relations with other people.
The dryad appeared to still be alive.Whats more it didn't seem to feel any pain.It was truly plant like.
