The dryad took a moment to appraise the three other foes but stopped worrying when she noticed that they were weaker then Ren.
A green glow began to surround the dryad as she reinforced her body with mana in preparation for the coming battle.Reinforcing her body with mana also boosted her physical abilities to be above Rens physical abilities.Add that to the wood and bark suit which appeared to have the effect of greatly increasing strengh and durability and she could probably end Ren in base form with a single strike.
With a burst of immense speed the dryad dashed towards Ren aiming to crush his ribcage in a single powerful strike.Ren simply evaded to the right of the 2.5 metre behemoth of wood and bark.Ren had already reinforced his body with mana at around the same time as the dryad.
Ren felt the force of the right club as it passed by him at slow speed.It might've been slow but it would more then likely leave large bruises on his body.
"Sacrificing a bit of speed for great strengh and durability will be your undoing especially since I'm wielding an agility based weapon." Ren said as he stabbed his dagger into the side of the dryads wooden suit.
The dagger met a great amount of resistance as it dug deeper into the thick wood of the suit.Ren found this surprising as he had been circulating mana through his dagger in order to reinforce it.This wood was extremely thick and durable.
Ren pulled out his dagger from the wood and jumped back.A short time later the elbow of the wooden suit rammed backwards into Rens previous position.
The wood appeared to be too durable for it to be a natural ability depending on the level of the dryad.Ren came up with two theories for this:
1)The suit was a spell cast by the dryad who put a far higher then normal amount of mana to vastly increase the durability of the suit.
2)The dryad had cast two spells in quick succession,one was the suit and the other was a defensive spell to increase the durability of the dryad and the suit.
Both theories would increase the survivability of the dryad by improving the suit.The dryad was already a bit slower then Ren so why would she decrease her speed further.It didn't make any sense.Unless...she was hoping to tire Ren out and beat him whilst he was tired.That depended on the dryad having more mana and stamina then him though and it was still just a theory.
"Enough theorising." Ren came close to the dryad and traced some lines in the air with his dagger.These lines contained a large amount of mana.Ren then stabbed the lines forward at which point the lines became individual slashes that sliced into the wooden suit and knocked it back into the tree.The slashes cut deeply into the wooden suit stopping just short of the dryads naked body.
Chunks of wood fell from the suit exposing the drayds naked body.Ren didn't let this opportunity go to waste as he used one of his created spells.He coated his dagger in flames and launched 7 arcs of flame towards the exposed dryad.An arrow also launched itself into her body.Her remaining eye widened as she was set ablaze and her abdomen and chest cut into pieces.
Instead of dieing however the dryad simply regenerated rapidly using up a lot of mana in the process.Whats more she seemed to replenish her mana.Ren sensed that the magical tree behind her had expended some mana.
"Are they connected?" Ren wondered to himself before noticing that the dryad was preparing a spell.
The wooden suit had been repaired and the dryads body was covered up again.A green orb of mana was in front of the wooden suit with both club arms surrounding the orb.
Green beams of mana launched out of the orb.They didn't appear to have a set target but that only made them unpredictable.Ren had no problem dodging them but one of the others wasn't so lucky.
Kye had been hit in the leg and the affected area began growing moss and small plants.Kye fell to the ground clutching his right calf in extreme pain.It was clear that roots were growing in his skin and muscle tissue.
Kye wasn't a mage so it was inevitable that he wouldn't be able to keep up with the mana enhanced dryads spell.
The others were fine however as they were mages.Edward had hidden behind a tree anticipating a powerful spell and Sophia had casted the flame shield spell.
The dryad continued to pour mana into the spell to continue launching green beams of mana in order to try and get rid of the other two whilst also trying to tire out Ren from dodging.
Ren wasn't idle however as he moved behind the cover of the magical tree whilst avoiding the rapid fire attack and began attacking it.He cast his created spells and used weapon flame arc over and over again in rapid succession.
