"Caesar, are you going to use the Vampire Kamaitachi to target the Dragon King, Norton?"
Xia Mi was shocked by Caesar's reckless actions as he watched him fire the gun on the deck.
"Are you insane, Caesar?!"
Manstein was stunned by Caesar's actions, his face turning pale.
"When firing the super-cavitation torpedo, there's a massive cavitation shockwave. It's like standing directly beneath a space shuttle as it launches. The sound of your Vampire Kamaitachi will amplify the noise, and in an instant, your eardrums will be destroyed!"
However, Caesar didn't respond to Manstein, or rather, he didn't care!
Bang!
Another shot rang out, with the bullet trailing a bright fiery line, visible clearly in the night sky.
The bullet struck the Dragon King's hard scales, sparking brightly, but caused no damage. Instead, it only enraged the already furious Dragon King.
"Do we have any other options?"
Nono, clearly understanding Caesar's thoughts, whispered, "If we can't kill the Dragon King, we'll all die here. If we have to lose our hearing to take down one of the Four Great Kings, Norton, it's a trade worth making, don't you think?"
Manstein opened his mouth, wanting to argue, but when the words reached his lips, he didn't know what to say.
Rationality told him this was, so far, the only viable solution.
The first and second mates were too busy to chat. They went to the torpedo bay to dismantle the alchemical warheads and reassemble the original metal warheads.
"Installation complete!" Finally, the first mate's voice rang out. "But we need to launch quickly. The torpedo bay is full of fuel and could explode at any moment!"
"The Storm Torpedo is a rocket engine! Its tail flame will ignite the fuel! What do we do if it explodes?" The second mate was dumbfounded. If it exploded, they wouldn't even have ashes left.
Nono remained calm and looked at Xia Mi. "Then we gamble that it won't explode."
Xia Mi gripped the launch gate tightly, her nerves on edge, waiting for the command.
On the deck, amidst wave after wave crashing against the ship, Caesar remained as steady as a mountain, holding the sniper rifle and letting out a roar toward the Dragon King.
The flame erupting from the rifle's muzzle was like a provocation to the Dragon King.
One bullet after another streaked through the night sky, leaving clear and bright trails, hitting the Dragon King's head with precision.
Roar!!!
The furious roar stirred up the waves, and white mist filled the entire river surface.
The fierce golden eyes pierced through the mist, like two giant searchlights. The massive and sacred body tore through the roaring waves, charging toward the Moniayah.
At this moment, both sides launched their charges at the same time.
It was Manstein. He controlled the Moniayah, injecting the last of its power into the wheels, driving the steel beast forward like an army of thousands, charging toward the Dragon King.
The wind blades swirling in the air locked onto the Dragon King.
Caesar silently counted the distance in his mind. As it neared a hundred meters, he could feel the air itself ignite, the scorching heat rushing toward him. He roared at the night sky, "Now, fire!"
Shami pulled the launch lever with a snap.
Then, everything fell into silence. But it wasn't true silence.
It was the brief loss of hearing caused by the deafening sound at the moment of launch.
Boom!!!
A thunderous roar tore through the night sky and the tsunami.
The explosive sound was so intense it drowned everything else, instantly covering all, leaving only that sound in the world.
However, more shocking than the sound was the brilliant beam of light, hundreds of meters long, pouring from the rocket engine, consuming everyone's sight, like a rising sun!
The raging shockwaves and sound of sonic booms, as the cone-shaped torpedo, a symbol of humanity's century of wisdom and technological peak, cut through the air, dragging a massive gust behind it.
In an instant, it left a blurry afterimage in the sight, shooting forward like a streak of light.
An unimaginable high-speed torpedo, even the flames of the Dragon King, Norton, couldn't melt it in time.
Boom!
The torpedo collided with the Dragon King's body, the immense kinetic force lifting it into the air.
Caesar, being the first in line, was swept by the shockwave of the storm. His body was thrown backward, crashing into the ship's glass, and he was cut by the shattered glass all over.
The others weren't in a much better state.
The shockwave from firing the storm torpedo at such close range sent Nono and Manstein flying to the side.
Only Xia Mi managed to hold onto the launch lever, barely preventing herself from being thrown out.
The river's surface churned violently, causing the Monyah to rock uncontrollably.
"Did we succeed?" Manstein asked, touching his bleeding head. Ignoring the wound, he scrambled to check the result.
"No, it failed."
A voice answered, and everyone turned to see Xia Mi.
Her eyes glowed with brilliant golden light as she stared at the raging storm at the center of the dark river, softly saying, "The King of Bronze and Fire is gravely injured, but... He has not died."
As if to confirm her words, a fiery tornado suddenly appeared at the center of the storm.
Within the burning flames, a menacing black figure could clearly be seen stretching its massive wings, stirring up the turbulent waves.
Though badly wounded by the storm torpedo, blood sprayed, turning the nearby river red, it still stood tall, exuding immense power.
"The King of Bronze and Fire is said to control metal," Xia Mi continued, her eyes glimmering with a hint of memory. "Weapons made of metal cannot harm Him. The storm torpedo may be fast, but that's all it is. It cannot kill a Dragon King."
After her words fell, she turned to look at everyone. Her expression was indescribable, a mixture of indifference and hesitation.
"In the world of the dragon race, to kill a king, in the end, you can only rely on swords and blades. Any other method is useless."
Manstein wanted to ask her, "Who are you? How do you know all this?"
But unfortunately, the enraged king began chanting in Dragon Tongue. The dry, scorching air stirred up waves of heat, and a series of fiery red rings were forming above their heads.
Though Manstein didn't understand the language, he was certain their ship wouldn't survive the next strike.
Xia Mi stared at the dark, giant shadow, still hesitating in her heart. Should she make a move?
"Headquarters, the Dragon Slaying Plan has failed," Manstein dialed the phone and hoarsely reported the result. "Unfortunately, we know too little about the King of Bronze and Fire. The Storm Torpedo can't kill the Dragon King. Please proceed with the Wrath Plan!"
The Wrath Plan involved tungsten steel dropped from space, accelerating with gravity. It would surely be enough to kill the Dragon King!
This was the last plan—the sacrificial move!
"If you want to die, just wait a moment," a voice suddenly interrupted. It wasn't one they recognized.
Nono froze for half a second, her face showing surprise. She looked in the direction of the voice and saw a black-haired boy who had somehow appeared in the cabin, sitting on the control console.
"It's you? Lu Mingfei!"
She never imagined that the 'S' ranked boy would show up on the Moniayah!
"Yeah, it's me."
Lu Mingfei nodded, messed with his disheveled bangs, and sighed. "Though it might sound a bit boastful, leave the rest of the fight to me."
