The black-haired boy who suddenly barged into the cabin clearly gave everyone a huge "shock."
"Wait, I'm a bit confused." Nono pressed her temples hard, struggling to control her surprised tone. "Aren't you supposed to be in Binhai City? Why are you here?"
Under normal circumstances, Lu Mingfei should have been across the ocean, on a special Chicago train, traveling with Professor Guderian to Cassell College to complete his enrollment.
But why... was he here, at the Three Gorges Reservoir, on the Moniayah ship?
"Lu Mingfei, how did you end up here?" Manstein was so shocked, his jaw almost hit the floor. His eyes widened as he stared at Lu Mingfei. "Who told you about the mission location?"
The dragon-slaying mission was top secret. Except for a few people involved, it wasn't meant to be revealed.
Even the students at the academy didn't know the exact details of the mission. Not to mention someone who wasn't even enrolled yet, which confused Manstein.
But then, he suddenly wondered if it was Hilbert. The only possibility that came to mind was that flashy old man.
"Uh, I can't explain this to you."
Under the suspicious gazes of everyone, Lu Mingfei thought for a moment, then decided to just drop the act and said, "Anyway, I'm here to help you."
"Help us?"
These words shocked everyone again.
Lu Mingfei couldn't be bothered to explain. He walked over to the corner, squatted down, and lifted a cover, pulling out a black box. "Luckily, this thing is still here. Otherwise, we'd be in trouble."
It was the set of alchemical swords that Ye Sheng and Sakatoku Aki, members of the previous team, had risked their lives to retrieve from Bronze City. The craftsmanship was unmatched, called the pinnacle of alchemy!
Xia Mi's pupils shrank. Almost instinctively, she whispered the name of the swords: "Bronze Purgatory·Seven Deadly Sins."
Although the Equipment Department had studied these alchemical swords, they had never been able to open them.
Under the watchful eyes of the group, Lu Mingfei gently touched the ancient box. He pressed down on the cover, and with a clear mechanical chime, the sides of the box unfolded like a fan.
Seven different types of swords and blades, including the horse-slaying sword, the Atkann long sword, the straight-edged sword, and the short blade, representing the famous sword designs known throughout the world, were all here.
"These are the Seven Deadly Sins forged by Norton?!" Manstein rushed forward, eagerly yet cautiously admiring the perfect set of swords.
"It's perfect, like the inner workings of a mechanical watch. Each one is the pinnacle of alchemy!"
The surface of each blade was intricately engraved with complex, deep patterns, and its lines and edges were honed to perfection, reflecting the forging mastery of the King of Bronze and Fire!
It was hard to imagine that this nearly flawless set of swords had been forged two thousand years ago.
"The Seven Swords of the Seven Deadly Sins, named Pride, Envy, Wrath, Sloth, Greed, Gluttony, and Lust." Lu Mingfei gazed at the blades, a hint of sadness crossing his face as he whispered, "Wrath was used to judge Norton, and this time, I won't make the same mistake."
He reached out to grab the heaviest blade, the horse-slaying sword, and with a deep exhale, he called upon all his strength.
The muscles in his right arm bulged, and thick dark veins surged like awakening dragons, an indescribable aura of violence pouring out of him. After a low growl, he pulled the sword from its scabbard.
Clang!
A clear ringing sound echoed as the long-dormant, pitch-black horse-slaying sword was drawn.
It was nearly 1.8 meters in length, a thick single-edged blade as wide as a palm, with a handle designed for both hands, engraved with intricate patterns that exuded an ancient, mysterious aura.
Gripping the black horse-slaying sword, Lu Mingfei's aura changed completely. He seemed like a brutal king from the ancient times, or perhaps a swordsman stepping over a sea of corpses and blood. The air around him was thick with the stench of blood!
For a brief moment, Nono suddenly had a strange illusion.
The black-haired youth before them didn't seem like an ordinary high school student, nor a so-called Hybrid. He felt like someone who had crossed mountains of corpses and seas of blood—an Asura!
It was as if he wore a tattered red garment soaked in blood, his body ablaze with burning fire, the sins and blood that could never be washed away dripping from the broken blade.
Thud!
At first, everyone thought it was a mistake, but they could clearly hear the sound of a heartbeat.
But soon, their gazes fixed on the pitch-black blade. The heartbeat was coming from within the blade itself, as if it were a living giant dragon, opening its violent "eyes."
Golden threads flowed across the blade, forming a complex alchemical matrix.
This scene left everyone in the cabin stunned, unable to close their mouths. They stared blankly at Lu Mingfei, the black-haired youth who seemed to be stepping on bones and corpses, like a demon of war.
At that moment, not far away, Norton seemed to sense the awakening of "Wrath"!
His bright golden eyes pierced through the smoke, focusing on the black-haired youth in the cabin. An unprecedented sense of fear slowly crept up his bones, spreading throughout his body.
"Four times the boost!"
With a nonchalant voice, Lu Mingfei lowered his body and gripped "Wrath" as if dragging it, then suddenly stomped his foot.
Boom!!!
In an instant, his figure vanished from everyone's sight.
What replaced him was the entire Moniayah ship being struck by what felt like a giant whale, with the deck almost level with the waterline.
The massive recoil, like a rocket booster, propelled Lu Mingfei's speed to several times, even dozens of times its original rate. He was like a fierce and domineering black lightning, splitting the roaring river into a chasm several meters wide. The howling winds carried the waves, crashing in all directions.
After struggling to stabilize the Moniayah ship, Manstein, through the shattered window, saw a scene he would never forget.
Lu Mingfei was walking on the waves, his incredible speed making it look as though he was walking on solid ground.
Behind him, the winds and waves churned, roaring like a wind dragon. He stepped straight into the forbidden domain of Dragon King Norton, smashing through the pure mental defense with an overwhelmingly brute force.
The heavy horse-slaying sword, with the force of thunder, cleaved through the air and rushed towards the stunned Norton.
Boom!
The clash of metal and iron, a burst of immense force!
In an instant, the waves created by the impact sent large sections of the river crashing up, rising tens of meters high, like a curtain that blocked the two figures.
"Rage" overwhelmed Norton with its absolute crushing force, tearing through his body, which had the strength of alloy, and spilling out molten-hot dragon blood. The scream that followed, full of heart-wrenching pain, echoed through the night sky.
This strike tore through the dragon's body beneath Norton, creating a gash several meters wide, deep enough to see the bones.
