For Nathalie, who wanted nothing but to win a war against her sisters, it surely didn't sit well that Naylani was conceding. That Naylani found something else more important than leading the Zorken Family or the Shadow Order.
It must have been a slap to her face.
"Isn't that why… even when Naylani conceded, you still thought of ruining her life?" Zoren continued, his voice calm, but his words clear and sharp. "Because you cannot accept that… you're the only one who wanted to win this war so badly. You didn't win, Nathalie."
He shook his head. "You killed her and my father; lied to them and hurt them—but me, being here, only proves you didn't outsmart Naylani."
