With their mother's blessings, the five children went around to each of the refugees. They took their time to identify what was wrong, and then they acted to heal what was within the scope of their current abilities. Eventually, all that was left were the hungry, and thus having hunger related illnesses. It was a fine showing of what the children had learned.
"You all did a great job." Night Silver and Undine said smiling.
"Yay! You hear that sisters! We did a great job!"
"Mhmm! Let's go play in the city now."
"I'm actually kinda hungry now though."
"But meal time isn't for a little bit longer."
"Then let's go fishing!"
The five happy, and praised children ran along their stomachs grumbling as they did. Undine giggled watching them run over to the nearby fishing hole. "Sil, you might have to restock the fish in that hole soon. Knowing their stomachs, they'll eat everything they can."
"You're probably right, but I'm sure they'll show some restraint. Now then, time to finish healing…"
For Night Silver this was as mundane a task as any. Healing herself, let alone others, was as easy as breathing was. It had actually become far easier over time. It was during this brief display, that Issanth saw that same thing again, this time, Tsa was also here to witness it.
"Wow, you were right, it seems like Sil has indeed gained a degree of access to wild magic. That actually explains a lot."
"Huh, so that's what it was. I thought it might be. But now having more confirmation I guess it's time to set aside my doubts."
"What do you mean, Brother? You're the one who caused this change in both of them. Though it is far more noticeable in Sil, than it is in Undine."
Night Silver laughed, she had put two and two together. "So that's how it is. Pfft, hahaha. Looks like having children with my husband has led to a new development within myself."
"Pfft, you don't seem bothered by it, sister."
"Of course not, it's just another tool I can use to protect my people. Thus they are safer. Honestly, I'd like to continue having kids, but I'm afraid I'm limited with how much they need to eat, I can't handle much more than 6 at a time."
Tsa roared with laughter. "That's proof they are half dragons, indeed! We eat a lot."
Undine pouted, and then gently held Night Silver's ear. "Sil, would… Would it be okay if Husband and I conceived again? I really want another baby."
"I don't see why not. It might actually help to have you also ready to breast feed the kids as well." She smiled, remembering the difficulties she had last time. "I know you really felt left out during that time, and you enjoyed it, plus it'll be nice to feed our babies together for a while longer."
Undine's lips curled into a big, bright, happy smile. She then looked towards Brightness. "You heard our wife, dear husband. You're going to give me another baby! We start trying now!"
Undine took Brightness by the hand and ran to the teleport sigil.
"Wow, I'm impressed you three are that fluid with each other."
"Don't tell me. You're a little jealous, aren't you?"
"Wha! Uh, achem… Well, I admit, I was a little disappointed to lose the perfect mate to my brother. But, now that I have confirmed with my own eyes, that he put in an extraneous amount of work to pull that off, I don't really have the right to be upset do I? He defeated me fair and square."
"Pfft, is that blushing pouty face I see?"
"Uh no, I…"
"Tsa, I have 11 children, and thousands of other children I've played a direct hand in raising. You can't hide that expression from me."
"I see, well… I'll get over it in time. Anyway, I should get going now…" Tsa was able to leave, then he remembered something and turned to look back at Night Silver just happily smiling with six children hanging off of her. "It wasn't why I came here, but I think you should know this, these people are not the only ones out there that are suffering under the weight of the other races…"
"I know that."
"Then…"
"However, I can not help them without a method in place to absorb them into my country. It's the same for you, isn't it? That's why you brought these people here, instead of going home. I'll do what I can for these people since they are here now, and work out whatever issues may arise as a result."
"I understand, I only thought I should let you know. It all started because-"
"Because of the battle where I killed the Dragon Emperor, right? I had a feeling the deaths of so many dragons lords would cause a great degree of imbalance. I'm quite fortunate to have 3 living here, and they get along with my people. It's only natural that the more I have, the less elsewhere would have."
"You really are incredibly smart. You must have had a, uh what was it you called it…"
"An education? If that's what you mean, I didn't have anything close to a formal education. I simply read everything through website backdoors. I had discovered them one day, and abused them. So I mostly just figured things out as I went."
"I see, so that's why… Well then, I really do need to return now. Issanth's extended leave last time did quite the number on our access to certain spells."
"Oh, sister, could we start a trade agreement of sorts? The Bath stones are starting to run low on heat."
"Wait, they are? That shouldn't be possible. Someone must be draining them of magic power…"
"Well, I do sleep in the bath sometimes-"
"Well that's your problem, all dragons absorb natural mana, if you're sleeping in it, the stones won't have enough time to recover. Give them a break once in a while and you'll be fine. But I guess I can give you a bunch to help alleviate the issue in the meantime."
Issanth took the stones, and prepared to take off. "Thank you so much sister. I'll shorten my time spent in the bath."
"Take care!" The two dragon lords left. "Alright, all of you, welcome to your new home."
