Zamiel and Hazel walked into a cozy restaurant, their fingers intertwined as they took their seats. The soft glow of the chandelier cast a romantic ambiance over their table. Hazel picked up a piece of food with her fork and playfully fed it to Zamiel, who smirked before returning the gesture.
Unbeknownst to them, Zamiel's mother, Mrs. Blake, was at the mall shopping for a few items when her eyes landed on the pair. She froze in shock. Pulling out her phone, she quickly snapped a picture of them and sent it to Jason.
"I am sure you know everything about Zamiel, so who is this girl?" she texted.
Jason replied almost immediately. "She is Hazel, the girl I was talking about the other day."
A smile spread across Mrs. Blake's face. "Hazel... a pretty name and a pretty face. Zamiel, you have chosen well." She then typed another message to Jason. "Should I go and meet them?"
Jason hesitated before responding. "I think it is best not to. Let him believe he is still keeping it a secret. When he comes home, I will be there too, and we can reveal everything then."
Mrs. Blake thought about it and nodded to herself. "You are right. I will leave things as they are for now." She tucked her phone away and smirked. "Now, I just need to do a background check on Hazel. Jason will have to tell me everything he knows about her." With that, she left the mall and returned home, where she eagerly relayed the news to her husband.
"We should call Zamiel home soon so we can discuss the next steps," her husband suggested. "And as for the background check, we need to make sure she is not from a family we dislike."
Mrs. Blake shook her head. "Who cares about her family? As long as our son likes her, that is all that matters."
Her husband sighed but agreed, knowing there was no point in arguing with her.
Meanwhile, at the Blake Mansion, Amanda's mother arrived unannounced. Mrs. Blake welcomed her politely but was curious about her unexpected visit. As they sat in the living room with cups of coffee, Amanda's mother got straight to the point.
"We agreed that if the chairman chose Amanda, then it would be settled," she said. "Now, Zamiel has already chosen Amanda. She is two weeks pregnant with his child."
Mrs. Blake's eyes widened in shock. "What?!"
Amanda's mother smirked. "I think it is only right that Amanda moves in here since she is carrying Zamiel's child."
Mrs. Blake's expression darkened, and her voice turned cold. "That will never happen. We are not even sure if the child is Zamiel's. We need time to think about this."
Amanda's mother scoffed, but she did not push further. Instead, she stood up with a smirk and left. As soon as the door closed behind her, Mrs. Blake clenched her fists in frustration. She immediately called Zamiel.
"What is wrong with you?!" she snapped the moment he picked up.
Zamiel, caught off guard, frowned. "Mother, what are you talking about?"
"Two women from the same family?! You surely have guts," she said, exasperated, holding her head. "We cannot discuss this over the phone. You need to come home as soon as possible."
She hung up before he could respond. Zamiel was still processing her words when Hazel, who had overheard, placed a hand on his arm. "Do you think it is about Amanda?"
Zamiel's jaw tightened. "It has to be."
The next morning, Amanda woke up feeling elated. She gently touched her stomach, smiling. "Zamiel's child..." she whispered. Just as she reached for her phone, a notification popped up.
She clicked on it, and a message appeared: "Watch your back. No one can be trusted."
A video file accompanied the message. Curious, she opened it. As she watched, her face drained of color, and her fingers trembled. "No... this cannot be..." she gasped, clutching her stomach. Panic surged through her as she stood up, hurriedly getting dressed. "I must not let this happen."
At Star Entertainment, Hazel was at the beachside overseeing the movie shoot. The waves crashed gently against the shore as the actors performed under her guidance. She was fully immersed in her work when her phone vibrated. It was a message from Zamiel.
"I will be going home tonight. I want to see you before I leave."
A small smile played on Hazel's lips as she quickly typed back. "I have heard you."
She pocketed her phone and turned back to the set, unaware of the storm that was brewing around her.
