Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Alexander's POV

We went to the main hall and saw a couple sitting on the couch. The moment they got our scent, they stood up and looked at us expectantly, which turned into a frown as soon as they saw me.

"You told me that you would bring the beta of the pack!" the woman said angrily. She was looking at me up and down as if I were some monster.

"How do you know that I am not the beta of the pack? I could be the beta of the pack since you don't know him and this is your first time visiting this pack, and we have never been to your pack either," I asked and eyed the same way she was eyeing me. I think she knows Michael.

"Because I know the beta of this pack! He is my son, and the mate of our pack's alpha!"

"What proof do you have of any of your claims?" I asked. I am hoping that they don't know that Michael is here.

"He left when he was 18," the man -I assumed Michael's father- said.

"That says literally nothing. A lot of people leave their packs when they turn 18." I rolled my eyes at the statement. There was something in me telling me that I should go and check on Michael.

I turned to my dad and leaned toward his ear and whispered, "I will be back. I have a sudden urge to check on him" I made sure to not use his name in case they hear and say some bullshits.

"Go," he said without looking at me. He knew that instinct very well. He always saved mother when she was in danger, but she- it's not the time to think about her! I scolded myself and ran to Michall's room, ignoring everyone in my way.

I opened his door and saw that a man was about to climb into his room through the window. Our eyes met, and I growled. From the corner of my eye, I saw Michael coming out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist and another one in his hand, wiping his head. He had a worried look on his face as he stepped out of the bathroom and looked at me.

"What happened-"

"Stay there," I said in my alpha voice and raised my hand to stop him there so that he wouldn't come into anyone's view. I went to the window and saw the man being captured by our pack's wolves, who heard me growl and ran here.

"Keep him caged," I said in an alpha voice, once again. They nodded at me and took the person with them to the secret basement we have, which not many know about.

"What happened?" Michael asked as he peeked from the shield and looked at me with worried eyes, "Did someone come here?!" I don't need the bond to know that he is about to have a full-fledged panic attack.

I ran to him and cupped his face. "I need you to breathe. I need you to look into my eyes. Just listen to my voice, okay?"

"I am fine, Alex," he said with a soft smile, which made me frown. "You sure as hell don't look fine!"

"I am sorry, but I am fine. I was just surprised," he said with a small smile. "But what happened? Why are you here so soon? Did they leave? Who came?" Before I could answer him, he looked behind and stiffened. I looked back and cursed under my breath for forgetting to close the door. Dad, the two people from The Red Woods Pack and some members from our pack are at the door. I think they heard my growl.

"Michael..." the woman said. She was stepping forward, but every step she took forward made Michael take every step backwards. I can feel him getting out of my grip.

"Stop right there!" I stood between the woman and Michael. I am not letting anyone near my mate.

"Mo-mom," he mumbled, looking at the woman over my shoulder. So, she was right; he is her son. But how did they find that he is here after all these years?
