"Don't kill him," Hazel said. Arthur was hers to deal with. If there were someone who was going to kill him, it would be her, once she decided that he deserved it.
Ranon was angry beyond words, and Hazel could tell that. She grimaced when he cupped her face and looked her dead in the eyes; she felt like he was able to see her straight to her soul.
He grunted in frustration, and when Hazel thought he was going to lash out at her, he leaned over and pressed his forehead against hers as he closed his eyes.
"Do you know how much I am worried about you?" Ranon asked in a whispery tone. He opened his eyes again and straightened his back. Briefly, he observed her to find any injury, but as far as he could see, there was none.
Still, they were going to go to the hospital to check on her and the baby.
"I am fine." Hazel then added. "The baby is fine…"
