TW: Violence and weapons!
The guy Ace was talking to looked like he'd swallowed a lemon whole. Ace just smirked, that infuriatingly handsome smirk that always made my stomach do a little flip, even though I knew better than to fall for it.
"Yeah, I might have," Ace drawled, looking the man up and down with open disdain. "Let me guess, your wife found out you were cheating with her stepbrother? Rough."
The man's face went crimson, and he took a menacing step forward. Before he could say anything, another man, bigger and meaner looking, grabbed a fistful of Ace's hair.
"Listen here, pretty boy," he growled, his voice a low rumble that vibrated in my chest. "Give us the information, and we'll let you and the girl lives. But screw us over, and she dies first."
My breath hitched. This was going south, fast. A cold shiver snaked down my spine.
Ace's eyes flashed dangerously. "If you touch her, I swear to God, you and everyone you love will die tonight." He gripped the man's wrist so hard I heard a sickening crack.
The man yelped and stumbled back, clutching his hand. The second man, the one who looked perpetually angry, pulled out a gun. "Watch it, Ace!" he yelled, pointing the weapon directly at him.
Ace moved with a speed I wouldn't have expected. He drew his own gun, the metallic click echoing in the sudden silence. "Fucking try me," he said, that infuriating smirk plastered on his face again. Hot, yes, but terrifying.
The first man's finger tightened on the trigger. There was a deafening bang, and I saw a flicker of movement as Ace dodged. The bullet missed his head, but the second man fired, hitting Ace in the shoulder. He stumbled back, dropping his gun.
Panic clawed at my throat, but something else surged through me too – a burning, unfamiliar rage. It was like my body was operating on instinct, divorced from my conscious thought. Suddenly, I was moving.
There were two more gunshots, sharp and piercing. Then, the sickening thud of bodies hitting the floor.
"Hailey!?" Ace's voice was a strangled shout, not of fear, but of utter disbelief.
My vision swam back into focus. I was standing, legs braced, the gun still clutched in my shaking hands. The two men lay sprawled on the floor, blood pooling around them. Dead. I had killed them.
Ace pushed himself up, ignoring the blood blooming on his shirt. He reached for me, his face pale. He pulled me into shaky embrace "Hailey, are you ok"
"I-i," I stammered unable to get words out.
He pushed me gently onto the nearest bed. He rummaged in a drawer and pulled out a first aid kit, bandaging his shoulder with efficient movements. He turned back to me, his dark eyes burning into mine. He took my hands into his.
"Don't worry about, I'll handle this." ace said.
I sat up, noticing the blood and bodies are gone. "Ace what happened to the-" I start to say but he cuts me off.
"Don't worry about it princess get dressed your coming with me tonight" He says getting dressed.
After I get dressed, me and ace leave the club and head to his home.
