ISABELLA
I walked out of the courtroom, feeling exhausted but relieved that my ongoing case was finally over.
As I emerged into the bright sunlight, my client, "Prosecutor Alessandro.." I heard my name being called and then saw my client run towards me, a huge smile on her face.
I turned back to her, and she threw her arms around me, bowing her head in gratitude. "Thank you so much, thank you for standing up for us, the masses. Thank you for not always bending to the rich people. I really appreciate it. I will never forget that. You are like a little angel sent to us by God to always help us."
I was taken aback by her praise. I smiled humbly, trying to deflect her words. "It's just my job, Mrs. Marrino," I said, trying to downplay her gratitude.
But she wouldn't let up. She kept thanking me, her eyes shining with tears. Finally, she handed me a card.
