"You all, sit down as soon as the bell rings! Take a look at Iida, Todoroki, and the others!"
Standing at the podium, Aizawa scolded Ashido and Midoriya briefly before placing the textbooks in his hands onto the desk.
"Alright, let's start the morning meeting."
He continued, "Regarding the final exam, unfortunately, some students failed." His gaze landed on Kaminari and Todoroki.
"And so, the consequences follow..."
In the audience, Kaminari gave a helpless smile, while Todoroki remained as expressionless as ever. The rest of the class exchanged glances, some indifferent, some amused.
But then, Aizawa suddenly flashed a terrifying smile, his usually drowsy, half-lidded eyes now wide open.
"The whole class will be going together!"
"Wait, what?"
"Eh?!"
A chorus of shocked exclamations filled the room, an unexpected twist!
"So Kaminari and the others can come too?!" Tetsutetsu jumped up excitedly to confirm. Not far away, Kyoka and the others also looked at Aizawa with anticipation.
"For this exam, everyone passed the written portion. However, Kaminari Denki and Shoto Todoroki failed the practical exam."
Aizawa continued his explanation, and the room fell silent again.
"As your opponents, we teachers acted as villains, giving you a chance to win. But we also held back to observe how you responded to difficult situations.
"To put it simply, if this had been a real scenario, most of you would have been eliminated before even facing any major obstacles."
Ojiro, sitting in the front row closest to Aizawa, raised his hand and asked, "But I remember the teachers saying they were going all out to defeat us."
"That was to push you to your limits," Aizawa replied casually.
"Besides, the training camp is an intensive program. Those who failed need to take this opportunity to improve their abilities."
Once again, Aizawa displayed that same terrifying expression, sending chills down Kaminari's spine. Man, that face really is scary.
"This is what we call reasonable hypocrisy!"
"But!" Iida suddenly stood up, his voice serious. "You deceived us twice! This could shake the trust we have in our teachers!"
"Well, that's a fair point. I'll reflect on it," Aizawa replied calmly. Then, he turned back to Kaminari with a sharp gaze.
"But that doesn't mean I was lying. If you failed, you failed. The school has prepared special tutoring for you."
Kaminari nodded sincerely, showing his acceptance of the additional training. Todoroki, seated at the back, did the same.
"Just so you know," Aizawa added, "this will be much harsher than simply staying at school to make up homework. So be prepared."
With that, the morning meeting ended, and the rest of the school day proceeded as usual. Slowly, time passed, and by the end of the day, the sun had already begun setting.
---
"Tetsutetsu, you go ahead. I'll stay with Kyoka for a bit."
Tetsutetsu shot Kaminari a speechless look, sighed, and nodded silently before heading off alone.
But as Kaminari watched his friend leave, he felt an inexplicable sense of loneliness. Weird… maybe I'm imagining things?
"Actually, you should go with Tetsutetsu," Kyoka said hesitantly. "We can just meet at the shopping mall in Musutafu tomorrow instead."
For some reason, watching Tetsutetsu walk away left her feeling guilty, even though she couldn't explain why.
"Eh, it's fine. We're probably overthinking it. Besides, having a girlfriend is just as important as having a best friend, right?" Kaminari said with a playful wink.
Kyoka smirked. "If Tetsutetsu heard you say that, he'd probably cry."
"Alright, alright, let's not bring him up anymore. Do you need to buy anything tomorrow?" Kaminari naturally took Kyoka's right hand as they walked into the sunset, earning envious stares from several classmates.
"Hmm… let me think. Oh, I do want a bigger suitcase. As for speakers, I already have the best one on the market."
Although Kyoka still felt a little shy, especially under the gazes of others, she had gradually gotten used to it. Unlike before, she no longer spoke in an overly soft voice.
After all, Kyoka was naturally outgoing. It hadn't taken long for her to adjust to being with Kaminari.
"Alright then, we'll shop for that tomorrow. Oh, and we should get you some new clothes too." Kaminari completely ignored "Pikachu" trailing behind him and focused his full attention on Kyoka.
That being said… this was actually the first time in both of his lifetimes that he had a girlfriend. Naturally, he was thrilled!
---
"Clothes?" Kyoka blinked. "What kind of clothes?"
"Hmm…" Kaminari thought for a moment before grinning. "Like a skirt. I've noticed you don't wear skirts that often."
"Skirt…?"
Kyoka glanced down at her usual black pants, her face heating up. He actually wants to buy me a skirt?
But… she wasn't really into skirts. Should she wear one just because he wanted her to? Or should she stick to her usual style?
Ugh, what a dilemma.
"Ah, right!"
Kaminari suddenly perked up, looking excited.
"We should also get you a swimsuit! Then we can go to the beach together over summer break!"
"…Huh?"
Kyoka was completely caught off guard. A swimsuit?!
Immediately, an image popped into her mind, her standing in front of Kaminari, wearing a revealing swimsuit that he picked out, while he admired her.
The more she thought about it, the redder her face became. Finally, when she reached her limit, she swung her left hand and smacked Kaminari hard.
"What the hell are you thinking, you idiot?!" she shouted.
"Huh?!"
Kaminari was dumbfounded. What was I thinking? I just said we should buy a swimsuit! How is that a bad idea?!
"Anyway, no swimsuits!"
"Why not?"
"I just don't want to! I'll buy my own! I even have some from before!"
"But isn't it normal for a boyfriend to buy his girlfriend a swimsuit?" Kaminari argued, refusing to back down.
Kyoka stared at him in disbelief. "What kind of logic is that?!"
"Uh… logic I just made up?" Kaminari grinned sheepishly.
"Unbelievable."
Kyoka sighed, finally giving up on the argument. As they walked, her house came into view.
"By the way, why did you suddenly want to come to my place?"
Kaminari and Kyoka exchanged looks before he smirked.
"To propose, of course. Gotta get your parents' permission for our engagement first!"
"…WHAT?!"
Kyoka's face turned crimson. Her voice even trembled.
Even the most outgoing girl would turn into a flustered mess when it came to marriage.
"HAHAHAHA!"
Kaminari burst into laughter.
"Idiot! I was joking. We're only fifteen! What kind of crazy thoughts are running through that little head of yours?"
"Y-YOU—!"
Kyoka's face burned with embarrassment, and before she could think, she lunged at Kaminari.
"KAMINARI DENKI, I'M GONNA KILL YOU!"
