When Ares finally returned to his room, Angel was waiting by the door.
"I can't open it. I would have left before you walked in. Also, I borrowed a shirt, and took snuggles," she said.
With his towel tied across his waist, he stood straight, staring at her.
"Where are you going?" He finally asked.
"To the room with Isabella. I'd like to sleep there tonight," she said.
"It's almost daytime," he muttered.
"Yeah. That's true."
They didn't say any other thing to each other, and just allowed the awkwardness to take over.
Ares walked up to the door, and opened it for her.
She was about to leave when he held her hand.
"I know we've established that there can be nothing between us. Still, you'll tell me if something is wrong, right? We've seen what happens when we keep things from each other. I don't want anything to hurt you," he said.
"Except you," she thought, but forced a smile outwardly.
