Chapter 109 - Conspiracy

As soon as White Shadow arrived at his friend's tower, the two, who hadn't seen each other for a few years, began exchanging stories and talking about their experiments. Soon, his friend took him to the elevator, and they went down to the lowest floor. There, he began explaining what they would be facing in this experiment.

"Shadow, this is my chance. If everything goes well, I will be part of an elite group among the Masters by also becoming a Master Umbromancer."

"Sahar, you are a terrible Master among the Bloodmages. You should focus more on your area first before having great ambitions, hahaha."

"Hahaha, Shadow, you are still in the same mood as always, but you will soon see the result of my research..."

As soon as he finished speaking and the elevator reached the 12th underground floor, White Shadow felt a disconnection with the shadow element and made a strange face. Soon, Master Sahar spoke, calming him:

"This is part of the experiment, I managed to isolate part of the shadow element completely on this floor. I need you to help me test the limits of this restriction and even improve it if possible... If you help me with this, I will consider our previous debt completely paid."

As soon as they reached the middle of the floor, White Shadow said smiling:

"If you just wanted to test the effect of the floor, why did you call so many Masters here?"

As soon as the words left White Shadow's mouth, a chill ran down Master Sahar's spine, and he jumped inhumanly almost 50 meters away from him.

"Shadow, old friend, I had no choice… For the sake of our friendship, just listen to me first. If you hand over the item that 'they' want, you can still leave here alive."

As soon as he said those words, Master White Shadow glared at him coldly before looking at the Masters who were revealing themselves from their hiding places.

Master Greed - Leader of the Asshai Aristocrats' Alliance...

Master Golden - Leader of the Asshai Merchants' Alliance...

Master Blood Armor - Leader of the Tower of Ritual...

These were some of the three most active and famous Masters in current Asshai, but the battle had not yet begun, and from the shadows, three more lesser-known Masters emerged.

Master Baron Bones - Famous necromancer known for bone magic, presumed to have been dead for hundreds of years...

Master Poison Soul - Another necromancer who had not been seen for a long time, known for his terrible soul-type poisons...

Master Priest Henfrey - Pope and current leader of the Black Goat Cult...

"Tsk, Sahar, you have completely blocked the shadows here and still brought so many people who hate me. I don't think they will leave so easily if I meet some demands."

After mocking Sahar, White Shadow began to look at everyone with a cold smile on his face, and everyone was on guard. His gaze stopped at Master Blood Armor as if waiting for an answer from him.

"Shadow, I am bound by a contract. I had to kill someone, it is your bad luck that the owner of the contract asked it to be you."

He didn't even need to ask the leaders of the two Alliances anything; they were here for some reward, since that was all they cared about. The two Master Necromancers hated him, and the last man was one of the most bloodthirsty and infamous Popes among the temples of Asshai. It was likely that he was here even for free...

He then looked at Sahar with great contempt one last time. His old friend saw this and became angry and said:

"Shadow, I was there the day you killed your own master. You lied to those people when they asked about a certain item that didn't belong to you. You should have handed it over. Also, don't look at me with that look of contempt. Do you think that good image you tried to maintain in Asshai can fool these old elders here? We know that your previous disciples didn't meet a good end. If you're going to go down that path, then perhaps your death will be the luck of your new disciple..."

"Tsk, I have indeed changed, and I was trying to be a better man, but you want to bring out the worst in me... It seems that most of you don't even know what the item in my possession is or how much it's worth... Anyway, enough talking. I'll show you that as long as we're surrounded by black stones, any attempt to block the shadows is futile..."

As he said the last sentence, all the Masters activated their best defense spells, and White Shadow cast his first spell:

Innate spell: Shadow Palm

A giant palm came out of the black stones on the dungeon ceiling and headed straight for Sahar, it was so fast that it could not be avoided. When it hit Sahar, he relied on one of his items that could avoid fatal attacks. It was only then, with his accelerated thinking due to his superior race, that Sahar realized that the entire area of the palm had a nullification effect that made the artifacts not work. But seeing was one thing, reacting was something completely different in that short moment.

When the palm hit the ground, it made a loud cracking sound that shook the entire tower.. When the black palm disappeared, all that was left of Sahar was a thin paste of green flesh and blood mashed on the tower's ground.

"Sigh"

"Sigh"

The two alliance Masters sighed in terror. Not only was the palm not blocked, but one of the seven Masters had already died. They reacted quickly by creating more defense spells while the necromancers cast restriction spells and screamed that plan A had failed.

Then, the Priest took out a black sphere the size of a melon from his inventory and activated it. Shadows came out of the sphere, devouring everyone inside the 12th floor of the underground tower. They all let themselves be absorbed by the shadows of the sphere, but White Shadow did not accept it. He began to use his light element naturally and explosively, trying to block the shadow from getting close, but in the end, he realized that it was in vain. This was a rare shadow-type item and spell called shadow distortion. It could move everything in range to the place where the other sphere was...

After that, both spheres would be useless. It was a valuable and rare item from ancient times and was probably created by the original inhabitants of Asshai. This time, Shadow was in serious trouble. They hired so many people to kill him, and now they even used an item that is at the level of a Relic just to take him to another place...

When the shadows devoured him, all he felt was dizziness before feeling the heat on his face. He was on an island in the middle of the sea; the island was at least 1500 meters in circumference, and it had only sand and a few coconut trees. But soon he stopped observing the landscape, and focused on the 6 enemies, and again he felt frustrated, there were 3 more men who were on the island waiting for him, totaling 9 enemy Masters, at the same time he saw a huge ice barrier cover the entire island, trapping him in it...

When White Shadow was young, he killed his master to take his tower, riches, and knowledge. After what happened, he even received support from Sahar to eliminate the dangers of the tower and collect the rewards he so desired. Among the various riches, there was an unexpected find: around his master's neck was a strange pendant, which he later discovered was part of a key to open some treasure, and what he had at the time was only a part.

As soon as he discovered this, several important people from Asshai appeared, saying that his master was dead and wanted information about his whereabouts. These people even asked if he had left something in the tower, but of course, White Shadow, who was not yet a Master at that time, did not admit his guilt and only gave vague information. He used his master's trust and other cowardly means to end the life of such a powerful person, and after that, all his greed was in the "pendant" and what it could open.

But now that he was so close to the truth, his research on the mysterious item caught the attention of someone powerful, and they came to kill him and steal his part of the key. How could he allow this so easily? His eyes shone with the same coldness as when he killed his master and all those who trusted him, It was time to show his true power to the trash who thought he was an easy target…
