On a desert island on the outskirts of Asshai, three men waited in battle position. One of them constantly instructed the other two while they listened and complained a little. If Rafael were on this island, he would recognize the leader of these three men as his number one extermination target—the Bloodmage Master Kalindor.
Since Valyria was destroyed, Kalindor had lost most of his totems and his riches. Desperate, he went to Asshai to seek help from his two apprentices, who were now also Masters. But who would have thought that the two apprentices barely recognized him, treated him badly and even mocked him for his momentary weakness, it was only after much effort and a little begging that the two Masters decided to help their former teacher a little, each one provided him with materials for a new totem and some other resources.
Still desperate for his weakness and vowing to take revenge on his two ungrateful students, Kalindor began looking for jobs and ended up going to the Master of Greed, who finally introduced him to one of the masterminds of this assassination. With the rewards in hand, he used a portion of it and negotiated with Master Greed to bring his two students along for the mission. Of course, in the cruel society of Asshai, it was quite obvious that Kalindor had something bigger planned for his disciples, but the rewards of this assassination were too good for them to refuse the job...
While Kalindor made the final arrangements of several traps together with his former students, above the island, a giant decomposing bird floated motionless, its flesh rotted in several places, there were no eyes inside its skull, and its feathers had completely lost their color, having a gray-white hue. On top of this giant undead bird were two people watching the 3 men on the island.
One of them was a familiar figure in Asshai; he was the Master Priest and Pope of Bacalon, while the other was a thin man dressed as a court jester. He had a bell-shaped hat and white makeup on his face that made him look like he was always smiling.
The Pope then looked at the island and then at Kalindor and spoke to the mysterious court jester: "Are you sure this Valyrian Mage is trustworthy?"
"Keke to complete this work, yes; for anything beyond that, I don't think so."
The Pope didn't like this person, but he always trusted his words. Within the organization they were part of, he was the only one who could see the future so clearly. Killing Master White Shadow was necessary to recover the piece of a certain key that had always belonged to them. His master, who was murdered, was the guardian of this part of the key and a member of the organization they were part of, and now they were just recovering something that had always belonged to them; revenge was something secondary. When he was going to speak to the court jester again, he was interrupted.
"Plan A failed as predicted, White Shadow cannot have the shadow blocked."
As soon as the Pope heard his words, he looked inside the island and saw only 6 people appear. He did not see Sahar anywhere, and he also did not see the target.
At the same moment, Kalindor's students erected a huge barrier made of ice, it was transparent and had thin red veins of blood coming out of the ground of the island, the barrier instantly covered the entire island, the weather inside and outside immediately changed and the cold from the barrier spread for several kilometers. Kalindor flew into the sky like a man on fire and began to gather several lightning bolts in his hands, forming a larger lightning bolt.
"Thunderclap"
As soon as White Shadow appeared on the island, a gigantic lightning bolt shot out of Kalindor's hands at a speed that the eyes could not see and struck the body of the Shadowmancer, who at the same time turned into a mixture of liquid shadow and reformed several dozen meters away.
Realizing that Kalindor's attack had failed, the mages of the Aristocratic and Commercial Alliance flew into the sky and began to launch powerful wind blades and fireballs toward White Shadow, who quickly reacted by creating giant mirrors made of light that returned the spells to their owners.
Master Blood Armor instantly donned a red armor made of flesh, crystallized blood, and bones and advanced, holding a huge sword made of Valyrian Steel towards White Shadow. A huge chimera the size of a tank emerged from his shadow and advanced, clashing head-on with Master Blood Armor and blocking his path. This was White Shadow's pet.
The two necromancers on the assassin team also began their attacks. One summoned a small army of poisonous dead chimera creatures, and the other raised an army of skeletons and a four-meter giant made entirely of bones.
Shadow reacted to the necromancers' summoning by casting another innate spell. It was a summoning-type spell called "Shadow Realm," which brought forth an army of humanoid shadow creatures. The three armies faced each other head-on, but the losing side was quite obvious. Outside of Asshai and in the middle of an island at noon with such a strong sun, the shadow creatures were suppressed and weakened and quickly torn apart by the army of chimeras and skeletons that had superior numbers.
While everyone fought, Pope Henfrey of the Black Goat Cult stepped aside and stood behind everyone, creating a shield of souls around him. He then knelt on the sand and began to pray fervently in an unknown language with his eyes closed.
White Shadow quickly observed the entire battlefield and reacted by summoning three more creatures. Two of them, a young man and a young woman, flew in the sky like angels. Their pairs of wings, one black and the other white like their eyes, and each half of their bodies shone in the two opposing elements of shadow and light.
The third creature summoned on the ground was a deformed, undead old man covered in armor made of purple shadows. If Sahar were still alive, he would have recognized the angels as the two apprentices of White Shadow, who also had the special physique of Shadow and Light. The man on the ground was his mentor, who had been murdered by him and now transformed into a powerful zombie.
The old zombie mentor pursued the Necromancers. One of the angels flew toward the Alliance Mages, and the last one flew toward Kalindor, who was already launching another powerful "Thunderclap" in his direction. This time, White Shadow shone in a flash of light, avoiding Kalindor's powerful superior spell before reappearing almost 100 meters away next to the barrier of the Pope, who was praying.
His body was covered by a full body armor that looked like a "white shadow," and he began to hit the shield of souls. The blows were so powerful that the shield began to crack quickly. This was White Shadow's signature, Ultimate Shadowmancer Spell, by covering himself with a cloak that changed color between white and black, he gained a sort of living armor that was so powerful that it transformed him into a fighter at the highest level of body affinity, with great stamina, stealth, and healing capabilities.
His fists had a terrifying force that could blow an ordinary human being and other creatures into a bloody pulp with a single blow. At that moment, when the shield was about to break, the angel that was attacking the mages in the sky managed to get close to one of them.
The male angel who approached Master Golden made his artifacts shine with a familiar white light, losing their effects. Then, the angel opened his mouth and spat out a ray of light that made Master Golden's head disappear and his body fall from the sky, scaring all the other mages.
At that moment, the Pope's shield was finally broken and he was about to be killed by a punch from White Shadow, when a red humanoid figure with huge horns appeared next to him and gave a powerful kick, sending White Shadow far away from the Pope, making him spit out a mouthful of blood.
The creature that was half transparent and the color of blood did not chase White Shadow and looked up at the sky where the first mage died and jumped with enormous force towards the male angel. As soon as she reached him, she hugged the beautiful angel and smiled cruelly as a terrifying explosion of blood killed the male angel. The explosion was so strong that it not only killed them both but also seriously injured Master Greed, causing him to fall from the sky in an extremely weak state.
When White Shadow got up, he saw that Kalindor had taken the female angel to the two barrier mages and had one of them killed before a plant-like creature full of vines and tentacles immobilized the female angel while constant lightning struck her, keeping her weak so that her pet could continue to hold her captive.
As soon as the blood figure exploded and died, the Pope recreated another barrier and began praying again. Shadow took advantage of this gap and immediately killed Master Greed, who was injured on the ground, with the same innate spell that took Sahar's life. He then advanced toward the Necromancers and used the same ray of light that came out of the angel's mouth to attack Master Poison Soul.
When the necromancer's headless body fell, a soul came out and tried to flee, but the barrier made by Kalindor's students existed to restrain not only the body but also souls. He then ignored the dead Master soul and shifted his focus to Baron Bones and Blood Armor.
The man in the living armor was still at a standoff with White Shadow's pet, and the undead Master was still fighting with the Army of the Dead and his giant. Since the dead master was an undead with shadow-type abilities, his strength was weaker.
White Shadow then activated his bracelet, which was a Relic, and sent out a large-scale spell called Firestorm. The spell was huge and hit everything in the area where the four were fighting. The flames caused terrible damage, killing almost all the summoned creatures, including his former undead master. It was unknown if the other 3 had survived, but White Shadow knew that his pet was still alive due to a certain item it had on its body that protected it from the flames.
After leaving the two enemies in the sea of flames, he used the "flash of light" spell and reappeared in front of Priest Henfrey's shield again. After several punches that looked like bombs exploding, the shield was about to break, and the familiar humanoid red creature with goat horns reappeared again. This time, it ignored everything and went after White Shadow, ready to use its suicide attack again, and everyone who was still alive realized that this could be the end of the fight...
