Damien caught it's subtle glance at the windows. So knowing that it was trying to escape, he prepared himself and in the last minute launched his sword forward impaling the disgusting abomination of a creature through the neck. Damien's confident steps echoed in the room as a walked towards the licker. He grabbed the hilt of the sword lodged in the neck of the somehow still standing licker and, with a fast and sharp movement, he cut it's head into two horizontal parts. Causing it to fall unhindered to the ground with brain matter splashing on the floor. The only sound heard was of the marble like 'Soul Stone' that rolled on the marble floor.
'How brutal.' Damian said in a low voice with a savage smile on his face; which combined with the crazy glint n his eyes made him look even more handsome. "What a flawless victory! Mwha!!" He exclamined with a hearty laugh and a wide smile on his face. The scene of a boy holding a blood covered black sword, wearing clothes stained with black and red blood and brain matter laughing heartily and maniacially would terrify anyone. His family could even hear it from outside. 'The apocalypse has changed him.' His father thought worriedly. "Or did it just bring out his true self.'
Damien was always a fan of Mortal Kombat. So, getting to say those announcements of victory in real life after an amazing battle felt incredible. Coupled with the exhilarating feeling of energy being absorbed from the dead creature in front of him into his own body, strengthening him. It was addictive and he couldn't help but laugh out loud.
But he soon snapped out of it. He picked the 'Soul Stone' and 'Treasure Orb' on the floor before going back outside to meet his family. "The anomaly has been taken care. We'll sleep here for the night, then we move first thing in the morning. The Master's bedroom is off limits so it's going outside. The electronics are working well and the electric cooker is active. If you are having problems with it, use the gas. But otherwise, no one should wonder from the living room except to shower. Before showering, check the water. It's the apocalypse, the water might be contaminated. Even better, just boil the water and put it in a bucket to bathe. Finally, be careful here. There might be other danger beings hiding in this house." Damien emphasized on the dangerous beings. A lot of things had changed that they were not aware of and, he was not prepared to find out about them at the risk of someone's life. He knew about the location of the showers and kitchen cuz he noted them down when he navigated the house while descending the stairs.
The sun had fully set, as it let the cold darkness take over the only thing giving light
Bringing the warm glitter of numerous stars and, the purple and green aurora that was left as remnants of the spatial tear. As if to remind them that everything that had happened so far was real. Damien stood behind the sliding glass door watching the room slowly. The light from the moon and stars seered to him, fighting the purple aurora. But, they seemed to be at a draw. As none could ever overpower the order. Damien felt that this was how they apocalypse would go. Unless a truly strong individual stood up and led either side to victory. It was conqueror or be conquered. No mercy. Death was the only option apart from victory.
Damien didn't plan on winning every battle but, he did plan winning most of them. The key was not to hate the apocalypse but, to embrace it. He was going to devour everything. Whether it wanted to be devoured or not. was going to divide everything whether it's to be devoured or not Damien stared at the purple aurora with a savage desire to devour in his eyes but was still completely calm. While he was deep in thought, Alice approached him "I couldn't sleep. What are you thinking about?" She stood beside him as they both gazed at the beautiful sky that was supposed to be pure black but, was enveloped in white and purple light. "Alice, just know. No matter what happens, I'll always be there to protect you. Even if you betray me." Damian looked at his short sister from up high. She didn't look back into his eyes. Instead, she was still focused in the night sky. "I will never betray you brother." She said firmly. "You know, it's both funny and sad how even if a star is destroyed lights years away, it's light will still reach us here on Earth. That's how bright a star is Damien. "That's how you are to me. So bright and warm. You are my star. Maybe, one day, why don't you take me to see a real star up close." Her dark blue eyes glittered as she said this. As she truly believed he could do it.
