The three of them sat in the ice cream shop at the corner, chatting as they ate their ice cream.


Kim was the one leading the conversation. 


"New Year's is just a few days away. What are you planning on doing?" she asked Elijah.


Mai shrugged. "You know very well I don't like parties, and you don't like them either, so why do you even care about New Year's?"


Kim pouted. "It's boring to spend New Year's with just one friend, so I wanted to change things up."


Mai snorted. "So, I'm boring, huh? Then you'll have no friends on New Year's."


Kim chuckled before replying, "It's not like I dislike parties, it's just that I need someone to go with. And since you said you aren't dating Elijah, I might just steal him from you."


Elijah smiled, taking a bite of his chocolate ice cream. "I'm not a fan of parties either. It's boring being surrounded by people who drink and smoke. I just feel uncomfortable."
