Mai returned home in a sleek black car after an exhausting but enjoyable fashion show session with Kim.


Back at the bar, the two guards were seated inside, eating and chatting with Kai, who was laughing along with them. 


From the staircase, Sylvia, Mai's mother, descended with a teasing smile. "How was your little date?"


Mai immediately looked away, refusing to answer as she stepped into the bar. Sylvia chuckled and followed. "Are you really going to ignore your own mother?"


Mai snorted. "I have nothing to tell you."


Kai smirked as he looked at her. "Look at our little princess, back at last. So, how was it?"


Mai shot him an annoyed glare. "Elijah just saw it as spending time with a friend."


Kai raised an eyebrow. "And that's a problem?"


One of the guards chuckled and chimed in, "Didn't expect the boss to be so dense. It's obvious Miss Mai likes him."


Mai quickly retorted, "I don't like him! My friend Kim does. Like hell!"
