Armaros sighed to himself as he drank some water and wiped the sweat from his forehead. Say what you will, even with the powerful body he got, he can still get exhausted when he has been traveling for hours straight, especially with the luggage.
After he had the breakfast at the village chief's home, he left the village and even though they tried to give him a horse, he declined as he didn't have any idea how to take care of a horse and he didn't know if he will be able to travel with an animal.
He was only starting to learn things and he didn't have the illusion that he will be able to suddenly take care of a horse out of all things. And if things got troublesome, he knew that he would have split his focus between the horse and the immediate problem.
He likes animals and he doesn't like to see innocent ones getting hurt, and while he could just disregard it, he doesn't feel happy about such a thought. So after careful consideration her refused the offer and left the village while the villagers bid him farewell.
The trinkets and things that he was given by the villagers have been kept safely in his bag and he couldn't help but smile when he thought about it. The feeling of being appreciated and looked up to by others was a new to him, but it was a pretty good feeling nonetheless.
He looked at the sky and frowned at the sight of the sun in the sky and the glaring heat as he put away his water and then started to walk again through the road in a field. From what he had learned, for him to get to the town of Xerxia, he has to pass through two more villages, and thankfully for him, there are roads for that, well, mostly anyways so his trip is a bit more easy.
'The heat isn't helping.' Armaros thought to himself as he walked.
One saving grace was that he has not encountered any bandits on the path and monsters don't appear on roads often so it is relatively safe. He hoped that a carriage would be on the way, but he has had no such luck as he scratched his head as he felt a bit frustrated.
'I wonder how the others are doing? Probably fine considering where they are.' Armaros thought to himself before he shook his head and continued walking.
Timeskip 5 days later
If someone had told Armaros that he has bad luck, he would agree with them. Why? Because despite being on the road for the past few days, he has not seen a single carriage which he could board, while also encountering two bandits groups as well.
Granted, they were small groups, but the fact that he had encountered two of them on the road and that he had to defeat then left a bitter taste in his mouth as he has to use his magic to fight them which is honestly a painful experience for him, which is why he has to take some tests to calm himself down before he could start on his journey again.
If there was one silver lining, it would be the fact that he looted the bandits of their money and some essentials. They tried to loot him so he didn't have any problems with doing the same, though he did leave them some of the money and only took a few things before he left.
"Should I have killed them? No, I don't think I should get comfortable with solving my problems with killing. That should be a last resort or a threat. Armaros muttered to himself as he walked through the path in the forest.
He had passed through the two villages he had to pass and due to his stamina he was able to make the trip much more easily. From what he could read from the map, he would be able to get to Xerxia after exiting the forest and walking some more.
He has also encountered a few animals, but thankfully no monsters which was a saving grace. It was only becoming a week since he was exiled from his clan and he certainly didn't want to deal with all of that.
Armaros sighed as he remembered his Clan and how he had been exiled out of it. The memory of his mother shooting him with Holy Light fresh in his mind as he frowned at that as he walked.
He knew that he didn't have the protection of the family anymore, which means that whenever he fights he would have to endure the pain of using Mana. He had consulted various books in the library, but was never able to find any information regarding it.
He wondered if it was a disease or condition unique for him, with his status as being a reincarnator and all. He never thought about it back in the mansion since he usually spent time either training or reading.
But due to the time he is spending outside he has had a lot of time to think about his condition and he absentmindedly came to that thought. His family's progenitor was blessed by the Divine, and he didn't know if his reincarnation had anything to do with his condition.
But whatever the case may be, he knew that he wouldn't be able to find anything out since the use of Mana itself was a painstakingly experience for him. And despite its use, it also leaves him mentally tired as well, which also works to physically effect him as well.
He sighed once again as he knew that he has to get used to the feeling of the Mana flowing through his body and the pain that accompanies it as he doesn't have the same protection anymore and he has to rely on himself if he wanted to survive.
'I must always remember that this isn't the modern world and not everyone will follow the rules.' Armaros thought to himself as he would constantly say that to himself to make sure that he remembered that fact.
He doesn't want to let his guard down and he complacent and lose his things. And another way for him to make sure that he has a livelihood would be to become an Adventurer of the guild.
It will give him money and a job, and if he manages to get high enough, then some respect and trust from the society. He just hoped that he will be able to do it.
The fact that he was able to kill people more easily than he was able to kill monsters still bothered him as he was intimidated by the sight of the bear monster.
He shook those thoughts out of his mind as he walked through the forest while keeping his senses at high alert for any signs of danger. He will be able to think about it after he reached the safety of the Town, but not right now, when he is walking through a forest.
He focused back on his path as he made his way through the forest and after walking for some more he managed to finally get out of the forest as he sighed in relief. He squinted his eyes as he looked down the road as he managed to see the town which is pretty big and has walls as well, and he couldn't help but smile at the sight, after all, he has been traveling on foot for almost a week.
With his destination in sight, he drank some water to hydrate himself before he started the walk towards the Town with a little more energy in his steps as he walked down the road as he got closer to the town.
As he got closer he felt more happy as he got to see the outside of the town. As there is a large stone wall surrounding the town alongside a huge gate to protect the entrance alongside guards standing on top of the walls and at the entrance as well and he can see a line of people who seemed to be entering the Town.
'Finally.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the town he was getting closer to.
"Guess my luck isn't so bad after all." Armaros said absentmindedly with a smile as he felt relief.
But then he blinked when he registered what he had just said before he sported a nervous expression as he walked towards the Town.
"Okay Armaros, calm down. Remember, nothing will happen with you saying that." Armaros said to himself as he walked.
All the while silently praying that he won't encounter any problems when he enters the Town as he wanted to rest after the long trip.
