Armaros waited alongside Rhia for the priestess to come, and during this time he was also coming up with different ways to run out of the Church should the scabbard be found inside of him.
Even if he is a child of the Dawnbringer Clan, he doesn't want to take any chances with the Church. So with the excuse of looking at the architecture of the inside of the church, he has made some plans for escape.
'Isn't she enjoying this too much?' Armaros thought to himself as he felt Rhia petting his head.
After she had first pet him, she started to do it again after a short time, but he didn't say anything so she kept on rubbing his head with a smile on her face.
"You have such strong hair Armaros. Do you use any particular hair lotions?" Rhia asked him curiously with a smile.
"No. It's just naturally like that." Armaros said to her as he just let her be.
'When was the last time I had my hair ruffled like this? Yeah, ever since I had left the mansion.' Armaros thought to himself as he felt a wave of nostalgia as he remembered his caretaker.
He sat there as he looked at the parents who were cradling their child as he observed the other members of the church, but then he felt a change in the air, a concentration of Mana which caused him to look to his right.
His eyes widened as his gaze landed on the visage of a beautiful blonde woman wearing priestess garbs, though hers is much more decorated with small gems as she walked with a staff with the symbol of the God of Light at the tip.
She also has a beautiful face as well, with fair skin and blonde hair which reaches past her waist and her own holy garbs giving her a very beautiful look.
"She is so beautiful." Rhia said in awe at the sight of the priestess.
But what really caught his attention was the mana inside of her, which is a great amount, not on par with his mother but she has a good amount of Mana inside of her, and he is sure that she will be able to subdue and perhaps kill him if she were to think of him as a threat.
'Why did I have to be born with such a disadvantage?' Armaros thought to himself as he couldn't help but curse his luck.
Not only was he born with a lower level of Mana unlike his siblings and other members of the clan, he also experiment pain whenever he used Mana. So he is not sure of his ability to fight against a priestess and other members of the church should things go south.
'If things go south, I have one single chance to get out of here. Jumping out of the window is the one which is most guaranteed to work and help me escape this place.' Armaros thought to himself as he saw the priestess make her way to the parents.
"M-My lady, please help our son." The Father pleaded as he got on his knees alongside his wife as they saw her approaching them.
"We don't know what to do." The mother said as she held her son.
"Please, I'm sure I can find the reason for this. The God of Light will shine his light on him." The priestess said with a serene smile on her face.
The priestess then hovered her staff over the boy as his parents laid their son on the floor as the others around were also looking at the scene happening here. The priestess started to mutter something as Armaros saw her mana converge on the staff.
But then he saw the Mana change as Holy Light appeared at the symbol on the staff as his eyes widened slightly at the sudden change.
'I see. So she is using a prayer to use Holy Magic. But is it truly just a prayer or a magic chant to channel and use Holy Light?' Armaros thought to himself as he furrowed his eyes at the sight.
But he focused on the priestess as the light from the staff fell on the child and his eyes widened when he saw dark purplish energy leave the child.
'The demonic energy of the scabbard was still in that child? I couldn't even sense it, even if it was such a small amount.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the child.
The people around gasped as they saw the wisps of demonic energy leave the child and dissipate under the power of the holy light as the staff stopped glowing and the priestess and the rest waited as they looked at the child.
It was silent for a while before the boy started to move and groan, causing his parents to have looks of relief and joy as they saw their son waking up.
The child opened his eyes slowly as he turned his head and saw the faces of his parents who has tears in their eyes.
"Mom? Dad?" The boy called out weakly.
The boys parents immediately hugged their child as they cried and thanked the priestess and the God of Light for bringing their child back to them.
The priestess herself smiled at the two before the priest from before whispered something to her as she nodded and turned to look at Armaros and Rhia. The latter standing straight as the former slowly stood up as he looked at the priestess.
"Are you the one who brought the child?" The priestess asked as she looked at Armaros and smiled.
'Damn she is gorgeous.' Armaros thought to himself as he kept his face under control.
"Yes. I was the one who found him." Armaros said to her with a nod.
"Thank you for your hard work. Because of you, a child's life has been saved. You must be an experienced Adventurer." The priestess said as she looked at him with a smile.
"I'm not. I was just lucky." Armaros said as he glanced at the family for a second.
"Lady priestess, he had become an adventurer only recently. He had found the child in the forest in the clutches of a monster he hasn't seen. Thankfully, the monster fled after he fought it." Rhia said to the woman respectfully.
"I see. What is your name child?" The priestess asked him with a smile.
"Armaros." Armaros said as he introduced himself.
"Armaros. That's a good name. My name is Chelsea, the priestess of this church." Chelsea said as she introduced herself.
"It's nice to meet you." Armaros said as he smiled slightly at the woman.
"Do you mind if I used my magic on you? I just want to make sure that you aren't also affected by that energy." Chelsea said to him in a gentle tone.
"What was that energy?" Armaros asked her acting innocent.
"It was a type of curse, perhaps something used to make the child stay unconscious. But it was no match for the power of the God of Light. So, shall I take a look?" Chelsea said to him with a smile.
"Please do. I want to make sure that he is healthy." Rhia said with a nod as she placed her hand on his shoulder.
'When did she become my guardian?' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the priestess.
"I don't mind." Armaros said as the woman nodded at that.
Chelsea then started to chant again as he focused on her words, but he was surprised to hear her using a language he hasn't heard about. In any case, this time she raised her right palm towards him and it started to glow with a yellow light which unsettled him a bit, as he could also feel Holy energy from it.
The light shone on him as he felt it over his body as his body tensed as he was getting ready to bolt out of there. After a few moments the light stopped as Chelsea lowered her hand and smiled at him.
"It seems that your worries are unfounded. There doesn't seem to be any of the curse in him." Chelsea said to Rhia with a smile.
"Really? I'm so glad." Rhia said as he let out a sigh of relief.
"I'm happy to hear that." Armaros said as he sighed in relief that the scabbard wasn't discovered.
'Safe, at least for now.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the priestess.
"Thank you for sparing us some of your time my lady." Rhia said to her respectfully as she bowed to her.
"It is fine. It is my duty as a priestess of the Church to help the subjects of the God of Light and all who seek our aid." Chelsea said to her with a smile.
"We are very grateful for your kindness my lady. But I think it's time for us to go back, may the God of Light grant you a great day." Rhia said as she gave another bow.
"May the God of Light grant you a great day." Armaros said as well.
"May the God of Light grant you both a great day as well." Chelsea said with a smile to the two.
After that the two left the Church as Chelsea watched as she couldn't help but smile before she went back to her own room after talking with the head priest of the church.
She then sat on the couch in her room as she went into deep thought as Armaros came to the forefront of her mind.
"Even if it was faint, I could feel Holy Light from him. Could he be a Blessed on the Lord? Or perhaps the descendant of a past Saint? Maybe one of the... No that's not possible. Still, to see a child who seems to have the blessings of my Lord, perhaps this is a sign." Chelsea said to herself in thought as she couldn't help but smiled as she clasped her hands and started to pray with happiness in her heart.
