Chapter 18 - 18. Goblin exterminated

Armaros decapitated a goblin as he stabbed through the next one as he weaved through the next four goblins and killed them with ease as he kept his senses sharp as he made sure that he was aware of his surroundings and never underestimate the enemies he faces.

Goblins were one of the weakest monsters in the world, they also have staggering numbers, but due to their weak strength they are not taken seriously by Adventurers and are only seen as low level monsters, which is why they are D rank.

The quest he got was that there were goblins living in a cave near a village and many of their villagers were being taken by the goblins. Mainly the girls as they are used to reproduce, something which honestly disgusted him.

Not to mention the fact that goblins are like an infestation as they keep on multiplying no matter how many times they are killed. The only time when higher ranked Adventurers actually attack goblins is when it's evolve goblins like a high goblin or the like.

But for him it wasn't difficult, he has killed 14 goblins inside the cave system and since he was already small and his sword wasn't a problem as he was able to kill all the goblins easily, which only had normal goblins.

He swung his blade to the side as the goblin blood splattered on the ground as he smiled at the cleaned sword as he made his way deeper into the cave. He finally reached the end of the cave as he moved his torch about as he scanned the place for any other goblins. But to his relief he saw that there weren't any, as he also scanned using Mana to make sure of it.

He then looked at the three girls in the cave, all three of them were naked and have some bruises on their bodies, and were shaking and shivering in place with their eyes which were unfocused and dead.

He looked around the place and he went to the hatch on the wall as he opened it and found goblin children inside of it as he frowned.

'The villagers said that it had only been 2 weeks since the goblins attacked and there are already children.' Armaros thought to himself as he created fire in his hand as he shot it inside and burned all the goblins alive as they all died.

He closed the hatch and waited for anyone of the goblins to come out but none didn't do he did another mana scan of the inside of the hatch and didn't find any life left. He hummed to himself as he turned to the girls as he kneeled in front of one of them after he sheathed his sword.

"Hey, are you awake?" Armaros asked the girl in a soft voice as he felt pity for the girl.

She didn't react to his words other than moving her pupils to look at him, and he couldn't help but see how empty they were. He looked at the other two girls and saw that they were the same as well.

'Figures, they are probably traumatized by the experience.' Armaros thought to himself as he caressed her cheek in a hope that he would get a bit more of a reaction.

The girl's eyes looked at him as she seemed to be focusing on him as her lips moved as he narrowed his eyes.

"He...lp. Save m...e." The girl said in a soft voice.

"Don't worry, you're safe." Armaros said to her as he rubbed her head.

She whimpered as she leaned onto his hand as he looked at her. He turned to the other two girls as they also seemed to have noticed him and were looking at him as well. He then used his mana and healed the girls one after the other before he covered them in rags he found

He then picked them all up as he walked out of the cave with the three girls in his arms as he used light magic to light the way as he did his best to ignore the pain as he made his way through the cave.

'Ignore the pain, ignore it. I have to save these three girls first and foremost.' Armaros thought to himself as he made his way through the cave and managed to get out of it.

He sighed in relief as he managed to get out of the cave as he looked at the three girls in his arms as he made his way to the village. He saw the village as he smiled in relief as he ran towards it.

The guards saw him approaching as they immediately alerted the others as he made his way to them. The villagers, including the parents of the girls came as they grabbed the girls as the parents held their children and cried as he watched them with a smile on his face.

"Thank you for saving them." The chief of the village said to him.

"It's no problem. I have killed the goblins and made sure that none survived. But I think you should have a scouting party to make sure that you aren't caught off guard like that again." Armaros said to the chief as he nodded.

"Thank you. Please, let us show your own gratitude." The chief said to him as he gestured to the village.

"It's no problem. I was doing my job." Armaros said to the man.

"Please, you save my daughter and exterminated the goblins, we have to show our gratitude." The Father of one of the girls said to him.

The other villagers also implored him to stay and give them a chance as he watched them before he sighed.

"Alright, I guess I can do that." Armaros said to them as he decided to concede to them.

The villagers were happy at that as they threw a small celebration for him as he spent some time in there as he ate some food and enjoyed some songs that were sang by the villagers. After that was done he was about to go on his way when he was stopped by the chief.

"Wait a moment Adventurer, you could go in our carriage." The chief said to him as he gestured to the carriage.

"I don't think I need a carriage." Armaros said to the chief.

"It's not just for you. This carriage is going to the town of Xerxia and will also be carrying the three children you rescued. They are being sent to the church." The chief said to him as he looked at the carriage with sadness.

"Oh. So you want me to accompany them as well?" Armaros asked the chief.

"It would reassure their parents." The chief said to him with a smile.

"Okay, I guess it wouldn't hurt." Armaros said as the carriage stopped at the entrance for the village.

The parents of the girls brought their children and placed them in the carriage and left after a few moments as he went and got inside the carriage as well.

"Please protect my daughter." One mother said with the other parents also telling him that.

"Don't worry, the route to the town is safe. And I will make sure that they will be able to get there safely." Armaros said as it managed to calm them down.

He sat on the carriage as he looked at the three girls who were wearing clothes and covering themselves in a cloak with half dead eyes as he felt bad for them.

"Well, thank you for your help. The reward is at the adventurers guild. May you have a safe trip." The chief said as Armaros nodded at that.

'Well, I guess this was fine to an extent.' Armaros thought to himself as he looked at the girls.

After a few moments the carriage started to move as he watched the village grow smaller in his vision as he turned his gaze to the three girls who have blank faces as they sat in place without moving as the three are beside each other.

'I don't like seeing them like this.' Armaros thought to himself as he sighed.
