Darren's POV
"Shut up and look, you damn fool."
It wasn't like Rowena to curse, so I immediately turned around. My eyes landed on the bed, watching Diamond's body.
Her chest closed up quickly, her skin, flesh and blood vessels regenerating. It looked like threads being tied together. Her skin brightened up, regained their pearl white tone. Her hazelnut hair grew longer, looking more stunning under the moonlight.
"She's healing? But how?"
"I'm the one who's supposed to be asking the questions. You threw a fit and nearly killed me, saying your essence blood was too powerful and it would kill her. But instead, she's healing."
"I really don't know what's happening. I'm as surprised as you. And for earlier, I'm truly sorry."
"Saying sorry isn't going to cut it. I'll think of a way you can pay me later. For now, let's hope that fate and chance are on our side."
I nodded, standing beside her. We watched Diamond's body in silence, observing the changes.
