Hagan looked around, cowering in fear from the unfamiliar scenery and the fact that he seeming teleported to this mysterious, snowy mountaintop.
"You have received a weapon. You have received a garment. You have received a tool. You have received an item."
Hagan flinched at the voice once again resounding in his mind. It sounded as if whatever was speaking was inside his and all around him at the same time.
"A… a weapon? What is this saying? Where am I anyway? I- I was just with that old man… How am I here?"
He continued walking, hoping to find anywhere he could be shielded from the cold snow. He was still only in his rags from Citadel 1… that dreadful place.
Slowly, his eyes began to sting. His joints became stiff, his fingers turned blue.
His long eye lashes were pelted with snow, as was his hair and clothes. His chest began to burn as breathing the freezing air became harder and harder.
Then, in the distance, he saw a smoke cloud in the distance, as if to answer his every prayer. He began to venture towards it, each step becoming harder than the last.
Hours passed and the sun had long set, making finding the smoke stack much harder. He mainly used the lightly shimmering stars as a guide, some becoming dimmer or completely disappearing behind it. As the moon was reaching its apex in the sly, Hagan could finally see the source.
What he saw made him feel… doomed.
Far below him, at the bottom of a small valley between the two mountains, a raging fire was indiscriminately burning anything it could touch. There also seemed to be something hidden within the flames. It moved swiftly while also being quite large, as if it were moving through the flames, or was the flames themselves. Hagan was once again struck with fear, afraid to be noticed by the… flame.
If anything were to begin chasing after him with a hungry look in its eyes, Hagan's chances of surviving were slim - practically zero. He was frozen, from the cold and the horrifying creature that had was in the valley below him.
He was still trying to figure out how to access his 'garment' and 'werapon' that he received from The Speaker.
Behind him, he heard the howl of multiple wolves which was terrifying enough to make him turn around, making sure they weren't coming towards him. He stared at the forest behind him, hoping nothing was closing in on him.
After a few moments, he turned back around and his heart nearly stopped. The flame… the flame was gone.
He searched the valley, using the white blanket of snow and the moonlight as a way to discern some of the features. He noticed that there was a large gray object moving up the side of the mountain towards him. He continued to stare at it when he noticed something, it eyes were glowing orange and dancing in place. It's maw was illuminating a small area in front of it, releasing an orange glow.
The creature was headed towards Hagan. He began to slowly back away from the edge, realizing that he may just be this creatures next meal. He turned around and began to run with his aching, frozen body.
